A casino review is only as good as its facts, so ours are built from facts you can check. Each one comes from the casino's own pages or a regulator's register, and each is shown on the page with a link to its source and the date we read it. When a casino publishes nothing on a point, the review shows a dash.
We do not open accounts, deposit, play, withdraw or chat with support to write a review. That means we never describe a withdrawal we did not make or a support chat we did not have. What we offer instead is a record of what the casino and its regulator say, in one place, with the evidence attached.
Where our facts come from
We use three kinds of source, in this order of trust:
- The regulator's register. The AGCO and iGaming Ontario for Ontario, AGLC and the Alberta iGaming Corporation for Alberta, the Kahnawake Gaming Commission, and regulators abroad such as Malta or Curacao, including licence validators where the regulator provides one.
- The casino's own pages. General terms, bonus terms, banking and payment pages, the help centre, the responsible-gambling page and the official app store listing.
- The operator's own company site or published reports, for ownership, group and launch dates.
We never take a fact from another review or affiliate site. If only such a site states something, the fact stays empty in our review. When a casino's live page cannot be read, we may use an archived copy of the casino's own page, and the check date shown is the date of that archived copy, not the day we looked at it.
What we check for every casino
- Licence: regulator, licence number, register entry and status, plus any public regulator action such as a fine or warning.
- Provinces: which of the brand's sites serves Ontario, Alberta, Quebec and the rest of Canada, which company runs each, and any restricted provinces.
- Operator: company name, registered address and registration number, group and sister casinos, launch year.
- Welcome offer: structure per deposit, match percentage, maximum in C$, free spins, wagering and what it applies to, minimum deposit, maximum bet, expiry, game contribution and any code.
- Payments: each method for deposit and withdrawal, with minimum, maximum, time and fee; Interac; crypto; Canadian dollars; pending time; withdrawal limits; verification rules.
- Games: the operator's own counts, providers and live studios.
- Mobile: iOS app, Android app, browser play.
- Support: channels, hours and French.
- Safety: responsible-gambling tools, testing lab and any payout percentage the operator publishes, quoted as its own claim.
- Negatives: terms that work against players, such as caps on winnings, inactivity fees or low withdrawal limits, each with the clause it comes from.
How each fact is shown
In every review's quick facts table, each value has a small source link and a check date. Licence numbers link to the register entry when the regulator publishes one. The casino's own web address is shown as plain text, not a link, because a review should not double as a route into the casino it reviews.
| What you see | What it means |
|---|---|
| A value with a source and date | We read it on that page on that date. |
| A dash | The casino did not publish it where we could read it. Unknown, not "no". |
| A note that pages disagree | The casino's own pages contradict each other; we quote both and say so. |
We quote numbers exactly as the operator writes them, including "up to" and the wagering format, and we keep the Ontario, Alberta and international sites of one brand apart, because they often have different operators and different terms.
How scores work
Each scored review gets a score out of 10, the average of six sub-scores, each from 0 to 10:
| Sub-score | What it looks at |
|---|---|
| Licence and safety | Who licenses the casino, whether the register confirms it, regulator actions, how openly the operator identifies itself |
| Bonus terms | Wagering and what it applies to, caps on winnings, maximum bet, expiry |
| Payments | Interac, range of methods, published payout times, limits and fees |
| Games | The operator's own game count and the providers named |
| Support | Channels, hours and French |
| Mobile | Apps and browser play |
Every sub-score is judged only from sourced facts. A missing fact is never rewarded: a casino that does not publish its withdrawal limits cannot score well on payments for limits it might have. A casino with a thin fact sheet scores what the facts show, and its verdict says why in one sentence.
A review whose editorial text is not finished yet shows its facts with "Not scored yet" instead of a number. We would rather show no score than one we cannot support.
How the casino lists are built
The lists on our hub pages are built from the same facts, each with a stated rule: the Interac list includes casinos whose own payment pages name Interac; the fast payout list, casinos that publish a withdrawal time of 48 hours or less for at least one method; the new casinos list, casinos that state a launch year of 2023 or later. The rule is printed above each list. Unless a list says otherwise, it is ranked by our score, then by Canadian search demand.
What we do not do
- We do not claim to have deposited, played, withdrawn or tested support.
- We do not publish user reviews, player ratings or player counts.
- We do not print bonus codes or "exclusive" offers that the casino does not publish itself.
- We do not let any casino, including our partner, see or change a review before it is published.
- We do not put buttons on a review that lead to the casino being reviewed.
Re-checks and the change log
Every fact carries its own check date, so you can see how recent each one is. Facts are re-read from their sources when a review is updated, and an older date tells you that fact has not been re-checked since. The "What changed" log at the end of each review records, with dates, when the review was published and what moved since: a new offer, a changed limit, a new licence.
If you spot a fact that no longer matches the casino's or the regulator's page, tell us with a link to that page. We re-check it and log the change.
Who does the work
Maya Lindqvist writes the reviews and Daniel Okafor checks every fact against its source before a review is published or updated. Their roles are on our team page. The site earns a commission from one partner casino; how that works, and what it never changes, is on our affiliate disclosure page.
