PlayOJO Quebec players, and everyone else in Canada outside Ontario and Alberta, play on an offshore site licensed in Malta, while Ontario and Alberta each get a provincially regulated version at playojo.ca. All three are run by the SkillOnNet group, which launched the brand in the UK in 2017, and all three sell the same idea: no wagering requirements on bonuses.
This PlayOJO review checks that promise against the brand's own pages, its banking help, its app listings and the regulator registers, as of 23 October 2026. playojo.ca was not available from our research location, so parts of it were read from archived copies of the site dated January to October 2026; we name the date where it matters.
PlayOJO Quebec, BC and the rest of Canada vs Ontario and Alberta
The brand has three Canadian doors. Which one opens depends on where you are when you log in.
| Quebec, BC and other provinces | Ontario | Alberta | |
|---|---|---|---|
| Site | playojo.com/ca/ | playojo.ca | playojo.ca/ab/ |
| Licence | Malta Gaming Authority, MGA/CRP/171/2009/06 (issued 21 June 2021) | AGCO registration + iGaming Ontario agreement | AGLC registration (to 13 July 2027) + AiGC registered site |
| Company named | Skill On Net PT Ltd | SkillOnNet Ltd / Skill On Net Ltd. | Skill on Net Ltd. |
| Age shown | 18+ badge | 19+ | 18+ under provincial rules |
| French | Yes, one of nine languages | Yes, fr-ca pages | Not seen |
PlayOJO BC players therefore use the same Malta-licensed site as Quebec, Manitoba, Saskatchewan and Atlantic Canada. That site's 18+ badge is worth a second look: it fits Quebec and Manitoba, but in British Columbia and most other provinces the legal age is 19.
PlayOJO Alberta is the newest lane. Alberta's regulated market opened on 13 July 2026, and both the AGLC registrant list and the Alberta iGaming Corporation's site directory show PlayOJO, run by Skill on Net Ltd. The only archived copy of the Alberta pages dates from May 2026, before launch, so details there are thinner. We also could not confirm whether the offshore site still accepts Albertans now that a regulated option exists.
The Ontario lane works the way the province requires. playojo.ca checks your location with Xpoint geolocation, and the help centre explains that an error code 4001 means the system thinks you are outside Ontario. Real-money play only opens once the check passes, so a phone with location services switched off will not get far. Ontarians who travel to Quebec or BC cannot carry their playojo.ca session with them; outside the province that account is closed to real-money games until they return.
The welcome offer: 50 spins, no wagering, no win cap
PlayOJO keeps its welcome deal small and clean. On all three sites, the first deposit of C$10 or more brings 50 free spins on Big Bass Bonanza, each worth C$0.10. The Canadian pages say winnings are paid in cash, with no wagering and no maximum win.
| Term | Offshore | Ontario | Alberta (May 2026 page) |
|---|---|---|---|
| Free spins | 50 on Big Bass Bonanza | 50 on Big Bass Bonanza | 50 on Big Bass Bonanza |
| Spin value | C$0.10 | C$0.10 | C$0.10 |
| Minimum deposit | C$10 | C$10 | C$10 |
| Wagering | None | None | None (brand policy) |
| Expiry | Not stated | 24 hours (help FAQ) | Not stated |
The arithmetic is short: 50 spins x C$0.10 = C$5 of play. Whatever those spins return is yours to withdraw straight away; if they return nothing, you have lost nothing but the time. There is no playthrough to calculate, which is the whole point. PlayOJO no wagering Canada pages make a lot of this, and fairly so, but the deal is still worth only C$5 at face value.
The reward policy that holds the full offer terms loads in a way that archive copies could not capture, so any maximum bet or game restriction it contains is unknown. No promo code is listed.
The Ontario help FAQ gives free spins a 24-hour life, which is short. If you deposit late in the evening, the spins may lapse before you get to them, so it pays to make that first deposit only when you have time to play the 50 spins through.
| Term | Main site | Alberta site |
|---|---|---|
| Offer | First deposit only: 50 Free Spins on Big Bass Bonanza, no wagering, no max win source | First deposit only: 50 Free Spins on Big Bass Bonanza (pre-launch Alberta page, May 2026) source |
| Free spins | 50 Free Spins on Big Bass Bonanza slot, valued at $0.10 each; wins paid in cash, no max win limit source | 50 Free Spins on Big Bass Bonanza, $0.10 each source |
| Wagering | none ('Wagering requirements? No thanks!') source | none (brand-wide no-wagering policy) source |
| Minimum deposit | $10 source | $10 source |
Ontario site: Ontario's regulator allows casino bonuses to be advertised only on the casino's own site (AGCO Standard 2.05), so its offer is not listed here.
OJOplus cashback and the other extras
The bigger part of PlayOJO's value is what happens after the welcome spins. Its own pages list:
- OJOplus: a cashback on every real-money bet, win or lose, which the Ontario help page says is withdrawable. The offshore homepage reported C$87,095 collected by players in September 2026. The cashback rate itself was not shown.
- Kickers: daily personalised offers.
- OJO Wheel, Prize Twister and Hot or Cold: prize games tied to play.
- OJO Levels: a level system that unlocks rewards.
- Reel Spinoffs: slot tournaments; Play Boosters are listed on the Ontario site too.
- A-Listers / Club OJO VIP: a VIP tier with an A-list Manager.
PlayOJO presents no wagering as a brand-wide policy, which makes these extras worth more than their size suggests. We cannot rate the cashback rate, though, because PlayOJO does not publish it.
Read the C$87,095 figure for what it is: a total spread across every player on the offshore site in one month, not an amount any one person should expect. Cashback returns a slice of money already bet, so it softens losses rather than turning them into profit.

PlayOJO casino online: games and providers
The library is PlayOJO's strongest suit. The Canadian About page counts more than 3,000 casino games from over 50 providers. The offshore homepage adds more than 60 live casino games, over 290 jackpot slots and more than 80 must-drop jackpot games.
The logos on the Canadian sites include Evolution, NetEnt, Play'n GO, Pragmatic Play, Playtech, IGT, Light Wonder, Games Global, Big Time Gaming, Push Gaming, Red Tiger, Relax Gaming, Yggdrasil, Elk Studios, Blueprint, Wazdan, Amusnet, Eyecon, Inspired, Slingo, GVG and Peter & Sons; the offshore site also shows Playson, Booming Games and Octoplay.
Titles promoted in the lobbies:
- Offshore: Big Bass Bonanza, Big Bass Splash, Book of Dead, Gates of Olympus 2500, Joker's Jewels, Barbarossa DoubleMax, Age of the Gods: God of Storms, Fishin' Frenzy Jackpot King, Ozwin's Jackpots, Mega Wheel.
- Ontario: Starburst, Divine Fortune Megaways, Gates of Olympus, Crazy Time and Ghost Father, among others.
- Alberta (pre-launch page): Gates of Olympus Super Scatter, Sweet Bonanza 1000 and Floating Dragon, among others.
The offshore homepage also posts a monthly payout figure: C$114,790,057 paid out across all games in September 2026, with C$9,818,378 from the highest-paying game. That is a total paid to players, not a return-to-player percentage, so it says nothing about your odds on any one slot. Every game keeps a house edge.
For live players, Evolution's presence in the provider list and titles such as Crazy Time and Mega Wheel in the lobbies point to a game-show section next to the live tables, although PlayOJO does not break the 60+ live games down by type. Jackpot hunters get the clearest numbers: more than 290 jackpot slots, of which over 80 are must-drop games, a format where the jackpot is set to pay out before it reaches a stated point. Fishin' Frenzy Jackpot King and Ozwin's Jackpots are two of the jackpot titles promoted on the offshore lobby.

PlayOJO withdrawal times, deposits and limits
Banking is built around Interac, and PlayOJO sets its rules out clearly.
| Method | Deposit | Withdrawal | Minimum |
|---|---|---|---|
| Interac e-Transfer / Request Money | Yes | Yes, after an Interac deposit | C$10 deposit, no minimum withdrawal |
| Visa, Mastercard | Yes | Not stated | C$10 |
| MuchBetter, ecoPayz, AstroPay | Yes | Not stated | C$10 |
| Paysafecard | Yes | No (pre-paid) | C$10 |
On timing, the Ontario help centre says PlayOJO aims to process withdrawals within 11 hours, longer if the payments team reviews one. The offshore help page says most payments are processed within a few hours. Once released, Interac money often lands within 24 hours or less, depending on your bank. PlayOJO charges no Interac fee, though your bank might.
Three rules to know:
- Withdrawals normally go back to the method you deposited with, and you must have deposited by Interac to withdraw by Interac.
- Documents may be requested after your first withdrawal request; PlayOJO says it usually checks them within 12 hours and asks you to contact support if 48 hours pass.
- Maximum withdrawals are not published. The banking page says "See Cashier", and the terms that hold the limits could not be read.
There is no crypto, and Interac transactions run in Canadian dollars only.
In practice, the no-minimum rule means even a small balance left after a session, say the winnings from the 50 welcome spins, can be withdrawn without topping up. The Interac-first rule matters more: if you fund your account by Visa and later want to cash out to Interac, PlayOJO's banking page says you need to have made an Interac deposit first. Choosing Interac from the start avoids that knot.
The PlayOJO app on iPhone and Android
PlayOJO has a Canadian app on both stores: "PlayOJO Canada: Online Casino" on the App Store, and com.playojo.www on Google Play. The same listings are linked from the offshore, Ontario and Alberta pages, so one app listing covers all three sites. Every site also runs in a mobile browser.
Use the store listings linked from PlayOJO's own pages rather than an app file offered elsewhere. In Ontario the site checks your location before real-money play, so allow location access when the app asks; Alberta, as a separately regulated province, also limits play to players located there.
Is PlayOJO casino legit?
The licence record is solid. PlayOJO holds a Malta Gaming Authority licence for the offshore site, is listed in the iGaming Ontario directory, and appears on both the AGLC registrant list and the AiGC site directory in Alberta. PlayOJO says iTech Labs audits its random number generators, although it does not link a certificate.
There is one public mark against the operator. In May 2023, trade press reported that SkillOnNet Ltd agreed a GBP 305,150 regulatory settlement with the UK Gambling Commission over anti-money-laundering and safer-gambling failures in 2021 and 2022. We could not locate the commission's own statement, so the source is the press report. A search of AGCO news on 23 October 2026 found no Ontario penalty against Skill On Net or PlayOJO, and none was found for Alberta.
For you as a player, the difference between the lanes shows up when something goes wrong. In Ontario and Alberta, a provincial regulator stands behind the site and can take complaints. Elsewhere in Canada, the Malta Gaming Authority is the body that licensed the site, and no Canadian regulator oversees it.
A short dated record from the sources above:
- 2017: PlayOJO launches in the UK.
- 21 June 2021: the current MGA licence is issued.
- May 2023: the UK settlement is reported.
- 13 July 2026: Alberta's regulated market opens with PlayOJO among the registered sites.
- 13 July 2027: the AGLC registration is due for renewal.
The operator also runs other brands. Its sister brands listed for Ontario are KnightSlots, SlotsMagic and SpinGenie; for Alberta, Mega Casino, SlotsMagic and Spin Genie; and PlayUZU serves Spain and Latin America. Note that the companies are written slightly differently across PlayOJO's own pages (Skill On Net PT Ltd on the offshore footer, SkillOnNet Ltd elsewhere), all at the same Ta' Xbiex, Malta address.
PlayOJO support and a contact number in Canada
PlayOJO support runs 24/7. Live chat opens after you log in, and email goes to [email protected] for Ontario or [email protected] for the offshore site. Anyone looking for a PlayOJO contact number Canada callers can dial will come up short: the Ontario help page title mentions phone support, but no number appeared on the pages we read. Use chat first, and email if you want a written record of the exchange.
French is well covered on the sites themselves: the offshore site lists nine languages, including French for French-Canadian players, and playojo.ca has French-Canadian pages. Neither says whether the support team answers in French.
Signing up and responsible gambling tools
Open the site for your province, register, and confirm your age and identity when asked. In Ontario, PlayOJO uses Xpoint geolocation, and an error code 4001 means you are playing from outside the province.
The Ontario site lists the fullest set of tools: deposit limits by day, week or month, loss limits, login time limits, Take a Break from 24 hours to 90 days, self-exclusion for 6 months, 1 year or 5 years, a Safe Mate tool, play history and a self-assessment. The offshore site lists deposit and spend limits, gameplay reminders, self-assessment, take a break and self-exclusion or account closure. Alberta's tools were not visible to us. Our responsible gambling page covers support across Canada.
Ontario site vs offshore site: the day-to-day differences
The brand promise is the same everywhere, but the details a regular player runs into differ between playojo.ca and playojo.com/ca/.
| playojo.ca (Ontario) | playojo.com/ca/ (rest of Canada) | |
|---|---|---|
| Withdrawal processing | Aim of 11 hours | Most within a few hours |
| Support email | [email protected] | [email protected] |
| Spin expiry | 24 hours | Not stated |
| Providers shown | 22 studios | 25 studios, adding Playson, Booming Games and Octoplay |
| Limit tools | Deposit, loss and login-time limits, Take a Break, self-exclusion up to 5 years, Safe Mate | Deposit and spend limits, reminders, take a break, self-exclusion or closure |
| Monthly payout figure | Not shown | Shown on the homepage |
| Payment methods | Interac, Visa, Mastercard, MuchBetter, Paysafecard, ecoPayz, AstroPay | The same list |
Alberta is left out of this comparison on purpose: its pages were only archived before launch, and we would rather leave a gap than fill it with the Ontario figures.
What PlayOJO reviews Canada readers should take away
PlayOJO suits slot players who care about clean terms more than headline numbers. The welcome spins are small, but nothing is locked behind wagering, the cashback is withdrawable, the game library is deep, and Interac withdrawals with no minimum make it easy to take money out. Quebec players also get French, and anyone who hates reading bonus terms will find very little to read.
Skip it if you want a large match bonus, or if you need to know your maximum withdrawal before you sign up, because PlayOJO does not publish one. Compare it with other reviews in our casino reviews hub, see how we review, or read about playing in Canada province by province.
