If you came looking for a BetMGM refer a friend deal, start with a more basic fact: BetMGM only takes Canadian players in two provinces. BetMGM Canada Inc., part of the MGM Resorts and Entain joint venture, with a Toronto mailing address, runs one site registered with the AGCO for Ontario and another registered with the AGLC for Alberta. There is no offshore version for the rest of the country.
Inside those two provinces, BetMGM is well stocked on paper: thousands of games, Interac e-Transfer with no fee, and wagering of 15 times the bonus. BetMGM welcome bonus in Ontario and Alberta
The two provinces get different welcome packages from the same company. Both include a 100% match on your first deposit up to $3,000 in Casino Bonus, with a minimum deposit of $10 and no code. Ontario adds a $100 Casino Bonus on registration with no deposit needed; Alberta adds 1,000 Bonus Spins worth $0.10 each instead.

In dollars: a C$100 deposit earns a C$100 bonus and needs C$1,500 of bets. A C$3,000 deposit needs C$45,000. The weighting is generous on slots and strict elsewhere: slots, jackpot slots, scratch cards and fixed-odds games count 100%, live dealer and video poker 20%, non-live blackjack 10%, and baccarat, roulette, craps, sic bo, crash games and about 25 named slots count nothing toward the match. That C$1,500 becomes C$7,500 at a live dealer table and C$15,000 on RNG blackjack.
The clause to read twice is the withdrawal restriction. Until the 15x is complete, your deposit, the bonus and any winnings are locked together, and withdrawing the deposit early forfeits the bonus and everything it won. The Ontario $100 registration bonus also cannot be cashed until you make a deposit and complete its 10x.
A worked example shows why this matters. Deposit C$200 and you get C$200 in Casino Bonus, so C$3,000 of eligible bets stand between you and a withdrawal. Win C$150 halfway through and decide to cash out your C$200 deposit, and the terms take back the bonus and the C$150 with it. If you might need that money back within the 14-day window, playing without the match is the safer choice. The same logic applies in Alberta, where spin winnings carry their own 5x within 7 days.

BetMGM refer a friend and other promotions
None of the BetMGM promotions we sourced for Ontario or Alberta is a refer-a-friend offer, so we cannot confirm that a BetMGM refer a friend Canada scheme runs or what it would pay. That matters because of BetMGM's record: in March 2025 the AGCO fined BetMGM Canada $110,000 after marketing affiliates offered cash for new accounts in 2024. Treat any third-party page offering money for a BetMGM sign-up with suspicion.
What the promotions pages do list:
- BetMGM Rewards: tiers named Sapphire, Pearl, Gold and Platinum, plus an invite-only Noir level. You earn MGM Rewards Points that can be used at MGM Resorts properties.
- Daily Prize Vault: a free-to-play game paying up to $2,500 in Casino Bonus, or $5,000 when boosted, in both provinces.

The Alberta lobby showed no total.

Those times start after an internal review that the withdrawal page says can take up to 3-5 days, while the Interac help page says about two business days. Plan on the longer figure. No crypto is offered, accounts are in Canadian dollars, and no per-method minimum or maximum is published outside the logged-in cashier.
You must verify your name, date of birth and address before you can deposit or play for real money; Jumio may check your photo ID and proof of address. In Alberta, foreign cards, currencies and payment methods are not accepted, and in Ontario withdrawals may be sent back to your deposit method first.
One caution about the help centre: several payment pages are shared with BetMGM's other markets. Mobile and app
The BetMGM casino app, listed as "BetMGM Casino Real Money", is on the App Store and on Google Play, and the same listing serves both provinces; the iOS page announces "Now live in Alberta!". The App Store shows a first release on 3 April 2022, around the Ontario launch. Both sites also run in a mobile browser, and Apple Pay deposits work through Safari on iOS. With 450+ slots and 50+ jackpot slots in the app listing, a native app for each platform and a working browser version as a fallback, mobile is one of BetMGM's strongest areas, and its sub-score reflects that. The one gap is Apple Pay, which works only in Safari, not in every browser.
Is BetMGM Ontario legit?
Yes. The BetMGM online casino Ontario players use is run by BetMGM Canada Inc., which is listed in iGaming Ontario's directory of regulated sites, and the Ontario footer states that it is licensed and regulated by the AGCO and approved for real-money gaming in Ontario. Its address is P.O. Box 1010, First Canadian Place RPO, Toronto. The Alberta site is a registered AGLC iGaming operator, with a registration that expires on 13 July 2027, and appears in the Alberta iGaming Corporation's list as BetMGM Sportsbook & Casino. No registration numbers are published on either site.
Legit does not mean spotless. The AGCO's public record shows two actions against BetMGM in Ontario:
- 3 May 2022: Notices of Monetary Penalty totalling $48,000 under standards 2.04 and 2.05, which cover advertising and inducements
- 26 March 2025: an Order of Monetary Penalty of $110,000 because marketing affiliates offered cash for new accounts in 2024
Neither concerns how games pay or how withdrawals are handled, and no action has been recorded in Alberta, where the market opened on 13 July 2026. Our review method explains why we still take a point off for them.
Behind the Canadian company sit two large groups. MGM Resorts International stands behind the MGM Rewards Points that BetMGM Rewards earns, and Entain is the other partner in the joint venture. In Ontario, BetMGM Canada Inc. also runs a second brand, Wheel of Fortune Casino, which is not offered in Alberta.
BetMGM casino Alberta
Alberta's site opened with the province's regulated market, and its welcome offer has been valid since 13 July 2026. The terms limit play to people aged 18 or over who are located in Alberta. It uses the same company, platform and help-centre copy as Ontario, with three differences worth knowing:
- The offer swaps Ontario's $100 registration bonus for 1,000 Bonus Spins; unused daily spins do not roll over.
- Dormancy comes later: an account counts as dormant after 5 years without activity, against 4 years in Ontario.
- Support has its own address, [email protected].

BetMGM customer service and French
BetMGM customer service runs 24/7 by live chat, plus email at [email protected] for Ontario and [email protected] for Alberta. No phone number is published. There is also no French version of either site: the French casino address returns an error, and the French help-centre pages serve English text. For Quebec this is moot, since BetMGM does not serve Quebec, but French-speaking Ontario players should expect to deal with the casino in English.
For anything involving money, such as a withdrawal stuck in the internal review or a bonus that did not credit, use live chat first and keep the transcript; email suits document questions, such as a verification upload that needs a second look.
Signing up and logging in
The order of steps, as the terms and help centre describe them:
- Pick the site for your province: 19+ and located in Ontario, or 18+ and located in Alberta.
- Register with your legal name, date of birth and address.
- Pass identity verification, which may go through Jumio with photo ID and proof of address. Nothing can be deposited or played for real money before this is done.
