If you are looking for the Betsafe Ontario app, there is no regulated Betsafe left to download it for. Betsafe's Ontario site, ot.betsafe.com, appeared in the iGaming Ontario directory on 1 March 2026, was gone by 13 July 2026 and was still absent on 23 October 2026. What remains for Canadians is betsafe.com/ca, an English-language site with its own help centre, owned by Betsson Group.
That site is harder to judge than it should be. From our connections it redirected to a Spanish Betsson site or showed a not-available notice, so the lobby, bonus and game library could not be seen. The help centre could be read, and it covers payments, withdrawals and support well. This review sticks to those pages and the regulator directory, as of October 2026, and flags one help-centre claim the directory contradicts.
What happened to Betsafe Ontario and the Betsafe Ontario app
Ontario's regulated market only includes sites that hold an AGCO registration and an iGaming Ontario operating agreement, and iGaming Ontario's public directory lists them. Betsafe casino Ontario players could find ot.betsafe.com there in early 2026. Then it disappeared:

Neither the directory nor Betsafe's own pages explain why. As of March 2026 the betsafe.com language menu still offered "Canada - Ontario" as a link to ot.betsafe.com. We could not confirm any Betsafe Ontario app on the App Store or Google Play, and with the site out of the directory there is no regulated Betsafe account for Ontario players to open.
One stale line needs flagging. The Canadian help centre answers "Where are you licensed?" by naming Malta, Sweden, the UK and "Ontario (Canada)". The directory is the authority on Ontario, and it no longer lists Betsafe. Ontario players looking for a regulated site should pick one from the directory, as our guide to playing in Canada explains.
The welcome offer: none stated
The Canadian help centre does not name a welcome bonus. It tells players to "check our Promotions page" to see what they are eligible for, and that page could not be opened from our connections. So as of October 2026 there is no match percentage, cap, spins count, wagering multiplier or expiry we can quote.
One rule from the help centre applies whatever the offer: deposits must be wagered before they can be withdrawn. Deposit C$100 and you need to stake that C$100 before cashing out, bonus or no bonus. Games: no lobby to count
Betsafe publishes no game total, category split, provider list or featured titles on the pages we could read, and the casino lobby itself did not load. We will not repeat figures from other sites, because none of them can be traced to Betsafe's own pages for Canada.
No testing lab or payout percentage is published in the help centre either. That leaves games at 0 out of 10: not a judgement that the lobby is poor, but a record that nothing about it could be confirmed. If you open an account, check the lobby for the games you actually play before you deposit.

Deposits, Interac and withdrawals
Payments are the best-documented part of Betsafe's Canadian site. The help centre's deposit list has eight methods:
- Interac
- Visa, MasterCard and Maestro
- MuchBetter and EcoPayz
- Paysafecard
- Instant Banking
No crypto method is listed, and Canadian dollars are among the supported currencies. The help centre does not say which of these methods also handle withdrawals, and it publishes no minimum or maximum amounts. If you plan to cash out by Interac, ask support first whether it pays out as well, since the help centre lists it only under deposits.
How payouts work
Betsafe states a withdrawal processing time of up to 24 hours. Three rules shape what happens after you press withdraw:
- Closed loop: withdrawals go back to the method you deposited with, so a Paysafecard deposit may leave you needing a different route out. Ask support before depositing that way.
- Deposit turnover: deposits must be wagered before withdrawal.
- Documents: Betsafe may ask for documents before paying out.
The 24-hour figure is processing time on Betsafe's side. Your bank or wallet's own time comes after it. Payments score 6, the highest sub-score here, because the method list and processing time are published; missing limits and withdrawal routes keep it from going higher.

Betsafe canada app and app download
We could not confirm a Betsafe Canada app on the App Store or Google Play for the /ca site. The site's terms page shows it runs in the browser, which is the one confirmed way to play. Anyone offering a Betsafe canada app download outside the official stores is not pointing to anything Betsafe lists for Canada.
Betsafe's language menu splits its sites by country, so check that any Betsafe app download names Canada before you install it; the Ontario site it once linked to is no longer listed. Mobile scores 2 out of 10, for browser play only.
Licence, owner and whether Betsafe is safe
Calling Betsafe safe depends on which licence covers your account, and for betsafe.com/ca that is the question we could not answer. The help centre names the owner as Betsson Group and says the group holds licences in Malta, Sweden, the UK and Ontario. It does not name the company that runs the Canadian site, its address, or a licence number for it, and the captured terms page did not show one either.
- Group: Betsson Group, also behind Betsson, which we review separately.
- Licence for /ca: not printed in any text we could recover; the help centre points to a Malta Gaming Authority licence held at group level.
- Ontario: no longer in the iGaming Ontario directory.
- Regulator actions: none found.
- Testing lab: none named.
The site also told a US visitor that it is "not available in this country" because of new laws governing online games. That notice was aimed at the US, and we cannot tell from it whether Betsafe still opens new accounts in every Canadian province. Until that changes, treat the Canadian site as offshore: a dispute would go to whichever regulator holds its licence, and the site does not say which one that is. Licence and safety scores 3: a known, large group is behind it, but the Canadian site does not tell you which licence protects you.

Betsafe support is the clearest part of the Canadian help centre:

The response times are Betsafe's own stated typical figures, not something we timed. For a Quebec player the lack of French is the main drawback; for everyone else this is a solid set of channels and scores 7.
Signing up and logging in
The Canadian help centre shows a 19+ logo. In Alberta, Manitoba and Quebec the legal age for gambling is 18, but Betsafe's page sets 19, so plan on 19 everywhere. Before registering:
- Make sure you are on betsafe.com/ca, the Canadian section, rather than another country's Betsafe site.
- Use details that match your ID, since documents may be requested before a withdrawal.
- Choose a deposit method you are happy to withdraw to, because of the closed-loop rule.

Responsible-gambling tools
The Canadian help centre lists a self-assessment test and a responsible gaming information page. It does not describe deposit limits, time-outs, loss limits or self-exclusion for the /ca site, so we cannot say which of them exist there. Ask support before you deposit if a limit matters to you.

A site that is not registered in Ontario or Alberta is not licensed by any province. Ontario requires an AGCO registration and an iGaming Ontario agreement; Alberta, live since 13 July 2026, requires AGLC registration and an Alberta iGaming Corporation agreement. Other provinces run their own sites. The Betsafe casino ca section is the only Betsafe door left for Canadians, and even that one needs checking from a Canadian connection.
Who Betsafe suits
As of October 2026, Betsafe makes a case only for a player outside Ontario who wants fast, English-language support and Interac deposits, and who will ask support which licence covers the account before depositing. That is a narrow audience.
