If you are looking for Bodog Canada, the casino behind the name has closed. On its About page, checked on 28 October 2026, Bodog says the name "stopped being used for its remaining sportsbook and casino operations" in February 2026. The old bodog.eu address now forwards to bodog.com, which states that it "does not accept bets or deposits, operate gambling accounts or offer casino games."

This page sets out what Bodog was, what changed and when, and what the change means if you once played there. It also explains why the old address can look broken. We have not given Bodog a score, because there is no casino left to rate; our review method only scores sites that still take players.

What is Bodog? A gambling brand that began in 1994

The brand's own history page says Bodog was founded in 1994 by Canadian entrepreneur Calvin Ayre. It grew from online gambling into music, television production, publishing and BodogFight, a mixed martial arts promotion with its own television series. The footer of the current site adds that the Bodog brand and its marks are owned by The Ayre Group and used under licence.

What we cannot give you is the licence number or the company that ran the Bodog casino Canadians used before 2026. Neither appears on the current site, and we do not fill that gap from memory or from other review sites.

Bodog Canada status: what changed and when

The change is documented by Bodog itself. The dates below come from the brand's own pages and from our check of the old address.

DateWhat happenedWhere it is stated
1994Bodog founded by Calvin AyreBodog.com About page
February 2026The Bodog name stops being used for its remaining sportsbook and casino operationsBodog.com About page

28 October 2026Bodog.com describes itself as an independent editorial resource that may earn affiliate commissionsBodog.com About page and footer

The About page does not say what became of the operations that dropped the name, or whether they carried on under a different brand. We have no source for either, so we make no claim about them.

Is Bodog down? Why the old address opens articles

Nothing is broken. Typing bodog.eu, or searching for the Bodog CA site you remember, now lands you on bodog.com, where the front page carries articles on NHL betting, Ontario betting apps and Alberta poker. That is the intended result of a permanent redirect, not an outage. A Bodog not working report from a former player is usually this redirect at work: the casino lobby, cashier and login screen are simply gone.

Be careful with any site or message that uses the Bodog name and asks for a deposit or your old login details. Bodog's own page says the brand no longer runs gambling accounts, so a request like that does not come from a Bodog casino.

Old accounts, balances and Bodog withdrawal in Canada

This is the question that matters most to former players, and the current site does not answer it. Bodog.com says it does not operate gambling accounts and does not accept deposits. It publishes no steps for withdrawing a former balance and names no company to contact about one.

That leaves no Bodog withdrawal Canada route through the current site, and no Bodog withdrawal credit card option either, because the site processes no payments of any kind. If you believe money was left in an old account:

  • Gather any emails, statements or transaction records the old operator sent you.
  • Check your bank or card statements for the deposits and payouts you made.
  • Do not pay anyone who offers to recover a Bodog balance for a fee.

The casino publishes no payment table we could source.

Is there a Bodog app or a Bodog bet option now?

No. Bodog.com says it offers no casino games and accepts no bets, so there is no Bodog bet slip and no Bodog casino app from the brand. A Bodog app download for Android that promises casino play or betting would not come from a Bodog gambling operation, because the brand says it no longer has one. Installing an app file from outside an official store also skips the checks those stores run.

Bodog in Alberta, Ontario and the rest of Canada

Bodog stopped gambling operations before Alberta's regulated online market opened, so a Bodog Alberta account is not possible. Here is how each part of Canada works today:

  • Ontario: regulated sites hold an AGCO registration and an operating agreement with iGaming Ontario. See our Ontario guide.
  • Alberta: sites need AGLC registration and an agreement with the Alberta iGaming Corporation; that market has been live since 13 July 2026.
  • Other provinces: each runs its own provincial gambling site.

The minimum age is 19, or 18 in Alberta, Manitoba and Quebec. Offshore sites are not licensed by any province, and provincial self-exclusion covers only that province's regulated sites. Our guide to playing in Canada explains the rules province by province.

What a former Bodog player can do next

We do not name a stand-in for Bodog; any casino you pick should be judged on its own licence and terms, not on how closely it resembles an old favourite. Our casino reviews list each brand with its licence and the provinces it serves. If the closure has you thinking about how much you play, the limits and support lines on our responsible gambling page are a good place to start.

Verdict on Bodog

Bodog is closed as a casino. Its own site says the name stopped being used for sportsbook and casino operations in February 2026, and bodog.com now publishes articles instead of taking bets. There is no account to open, no bonus to claim and no Bodog casino app. If you still hold a balance from the old operation, the current site gives no withdrawal instructions. Canadians who want a regulated site should start from the rules of their own province.

Gambling should stay a choice

Online gambling in Canada is set province by province. Ontario and Alberta license private operators; the other provinces run their own sites, and casinos licensed abroad are not supervised by any Canadian regulator. Real-money play is for adults: 19+, or 18+ in Alberta, Manitoba and Quebec.
