Anyone looking for the Coolbet app in Canada in 2026 is looking for something that has gone. Coolbet ran a sportsbook and casino in Ontario's regulated market, then pulled out in the spring of 2023. Its Canadian address, coolbet.ca, now forwards visitors to coolbet.com, the brand's international site.

This page explains what Coolbet was, when the Ontario site closed and what the public record shows about it. It also covers what we could and could not confirm about the brand's apps and the rest of Canada, as of October 2026. Coolbet is not ranked or scored on this site, because there is no Canadian Coolbet casino left to review.

What Coolbet was

In GAN Limited's filings, Coolbet means Vincent Group p.l.c., a Malta public limited company that GAN bought on 1 January 2021. GAN, a Bermuda company that files annual reports with the US Securities and Exchange Commission, described the business in its report for 2022 as a sportsbook, casino and poker operator serving players in Northern Europe, Latin America and Canada.

The same report listed the gaming licences its consumer business held at the time:

  • Estonia
  • Malta
  • Sweden
  • Ontario, Canada

In January 2023 GAN also launched a Coolbet casino in Mexico's regulated market. Ontario was the only Canadian province where Coolbet held a licence.

Coolbet Ontario: what changed and when

Ontario's private online market works through a public list: every legal site holds an AGCO registration and an operating agreement with iGaming Ontario, and appears in the iGaming Ontario directory. The Coolbet Ontario entry can be traced through archived copies of that list.

DateWhat the record shows
27 January 2023Coolbet appears in the iGaming Ontario directory (archived copy)
30 March 2023GAN's results release says competitive sports-betting markets such as Ontario offer no acceptable return in a reasonable time, and that capital is being moved away from them
19 April 2023Coolbet is missing from the archived directory
23 October 2026The live directory lists 84 sites; Coolbet is not one of them
23 October 2026coolbet.ca forwards to www.coolbet.com

So the Coolbet Ontario casino left the regulated market between late January and mid-April 2023, and has not come back. GAN's own words put the decision down to cost and competition. We found nothing in the record linking the exit to a regulator penalty.

Coolbet app downloads: iPhone and Android

Before trusting any Coolbet app download offered in Canada, it helps to know what the stores actually hold. On 28 October 2026 we searched the two main ones:

  • Coolbet app iPhone: Apple's Canadian App Store returned no Coolbet app. Coolbet apps do appear in Apple's Estonian store, published by StayCool OU, but those are built for Estonia.
  • Coolbet app Android: Google Play's Canadian search showed no app from Coolbet's operator. One listing carries 'coolbet' inside its package name but comes from a developer called 'Ramky app', which has no stated link to the brand.

Treat any app or download link that uses the Coolbet name in Canada with suspicion. A gambling app that the operator itself did not publish should never get your login, ID documents or card details.

Coolbet Quebec and the rest of Canada

Searches for Coolbet Quebec usually come from players outside Ontario who remember the brand. GAN's 2022 report says Coolbet served Canada beyond Ontario at that time. What the international site allows today is a separate question, and we could not answer it: coolbet.com's terms did not load for us, either as plain text or in a full browser.

Without those terms we cannot say whether coolbet.com accepts players from Quebec, Alberta or anywhere else in Canada. What we can say is how the provinces work. Quebec, like most provinces, runs its own legal online casino, and the minimum age there is 18. An offshore site is not licensed by any province, whatever it accepts. Alberta opened a regulated private market on 13 July 2026, where the age limit is also 18.

Is Coolbet legit? Reading old Coolbet Canada reviews

When it operated in Ontario, Coolbet was a registered, regulated operator owned by a company that publishes audited accounts. That history is real. It does not, however, describe the brand as Canadians meet it now.

Coolbet Canada reviews written while the Ontario site was live can still describe bonuses, games and payment options for a Canadian site that closed in 2023, and an older page about casino Coolbet may never have been updated. Check the date on anything you read. If a page offers a Coolbet promotion for Ontario, it is out of date.

If you had a Coolbet Ontario account

We could not read a closure notice on coolbet.ca itself, because the domain now forwards elsewhere, so we cannot repeat Coolbet's own instructions to account holders. If you believe money was left in an Ontario account:

  1. Write to Coolbet's support team and ask in writing what happened to the balance.
  2. Keep your deposit records, account emails and any statements.
  3. Mention that the account was opened on the Ontario site while it was in the iGaming Ontario directory, because that is the period the AGCO, as Ontario's regulator, oversaw.

Be careful with anyone who contacts you offering to recover a Coolbet balance for a fee.

What Canadian players can do instead

We do not name a stand-in for Coolbet. A brand that closed is not replaced by whichever site advertises hardest. Our casino reviews cover the brands that are open to Canadians, each checked against its own terms. Ontario players can use our Ontario guide to see how the regulated directory works, and our guide to playing in Canada explains the options province by province. Our review method explains why a closed brand gets a status page instead of a score. If gambling has stopped being fun, our responsible gambling page lists free help.

Verdict on Coolbet

Coolbet no longer runs a regulated casino anywhere in Canada. Its Ontario site was listed by iGaming Ontario in January 2023 and gone by April 2023, after its owner GAN said the Ontario market offered no acceptable return. coolbet.ca now forwards to the international coolbet.com, whose terms we could not read, so we cannot say it accepts players in Quebec or any other province. There is nothing here to score or recommend.

Gambling should stay a choice

Online gambling in Canada is set province by province. Ontario and Alberta license private operators; the other provinces run their own sites, and casinos licensed abroad are not supervised by any Canadian regulator. Real-money play is for adults: 19+, or 18+ in Alberta, Manitoba and Quebec.
