theScore Bet Alberta and Ontario Review 2026: The Casino Side

A PENN-owned sportsbook and casino app, regulated in two provinces and closed to the rest of Canada

theScore Bet welcome offer

Ontario site thescore.bet

Ontario's regulator allows casino bonuses to be advertised only on the casino's own site (AGCO Standard 2.05), so we do not list this site's offer.

The casino's own offer, quoted from its terms as of 23 October 2026. 19+ (18+ in Alberta, Manitoba and Quebec), terms apply; wagering must be met before bonus winnings can be withdrawn. Full bonus terms

Our verdict

theScore Bet suits players in Ontario or Alberta who want a provincially regulated casino inside the same app as a sportsbook, run by the PENN Entertainment group. Players in every other province cannot use it. The score is low because no current casino welcome offer, payment method, payout time or limit could be confirmed on 23 October 2026, and a missing fact earns nothing. Watch the ID rule: only Canadian government-issued ID is accepted.

Pros

  • Registered in Ontario (AGCO, iGaming Ontario) and Alberta (AGLC, Alberta iGaming Corporation)
  • Run by Score Media and Gaming Inc., part of PENN Entertainment; no regulator actions found
  • iOS and Android app combining sportsbook and casino, plus a browser-based theScore Casino
  • Three support routes: in-app live chat, email and a callback line

Cons

  • Not offered outside Ontario and Alberta, Quebec included
  • No current Canadian casino welcome offer could be confirmed in October 2026
  • Payment methods, payout times and limits are not on record
  • Only Canadian government-issued ID accepted; foreign IDs and permits are refused

theScore Bet Alberta and Ontario players deal with the same company, Score Media and Gaming Inc., part of PENN Entertainment, and with a product that is regulated in each province. In Ontario it is registered with the AGCO and listed by iGaming Ontario; in Alberta it is registered with AGLC and listed by the Alberta iGaming Corporation. Everywhere else in Canada, it is not offered.

theScore Bet is a sportsbook and a casino in one app. This review covers the casino side and is open about its limits: the main site sat behind a bot check when we tried to read it, so the facts below come from the provincial registers, the operator's help centre and theScore Casino's own site, as of October 2026. Where something could not be confirmed, we say so instead of filling the gap.

theScore Bet Alberta and Ontario: one operator, two regulators

theScore Bet runs only where a provincial regime lets it. The help centre states who may open an account: players in Ontario aged 19 or over, and players in Alberta aged 18 or over. The terms of use describe the service as available only in permitted jurisdictions, which in Canada means those two provinces.

Alberta's regulated market opened on 13 July 2026. Quebec, British Columbia and the other provinces are not served; players there have their provincially run site instead. Our page on playing in Canada explains how each province organizes online casino play.

theScore Bet sign up bonus: what is on record

We could not confirm a current theScore Bet sign up bonus for the casino. The operator's help centre mixes promotion articles for the United States and Canada, and none is clearly labelled as the present Ontario or Alberta casino welcome offer. Rather than quote a deal that may belong to another market, we leave it out.

One promotion rule is on record. Clause 16(a) of the terms of use says dormant accounts are opted out of all promotions and bonuses. If you stop using your account for a long stretch, do not expect offers to keep arriving.

theScore Bet refer a friend

No theScore Bet refer a friend scheme for Canadian players appears in the pages we could read. If the app shows one to you, read its rules first; check whether the reward is casino credit or a sports free bet, and what wagering applies, before you send a link.

Our separate theScore Bet bonus page covers promo codes in more detail.

Ontario site: Ontario's regulator allows casino bonuses to be advertised only on the casino's own site (AGCO Standard 2.05), so its offer is not listed here.

theScore Bet casino games

PENN's Canadian casino comes in two forms from the same company. theScore Bet combines the sportsbook and the casino in one app. theScore Casino is a separate, casino-only product with its own site, and its page title promises "1900+ Slots, Table Games & More". That is the only game count the operator publishes, and it is a rounded marketing figure. Players who want casino games without the sportsbook may prefer theScore Casino; in Alberta the register lists it as a separate site under the same company.

No split between slots, live dealer and table games is published, no studio list, and no named titles that we could read. We also found no testing-laboratory certificate or published payout percentage.

Whatever the lobby holds, each game has a house edge, and a return-to-player figure describes a long-run average rather than any single session.

  • Total: 1900+ Slots, Table Games & More (theScore Casino page title) source

Deposits and withdrawals: the gaps

This is the weakest part of the record. As of October 2026 we could not confirm:

  • which deposit and withdrawal methods are offered, including whether Interac is one of them;
  • minimum or maximum amounts, or any daily or weekly cap;
  • how long a withdrawal stays pending or how long it takes to arrive;
  • whether any method carries a fee.

That gap is why the payments score is zero. It reflects missing evidence, not a known problem. Before your first deposit, open the cashier in the app and note the withdrawal options for the method you pay with. Have your Canadian ID ready as well, since the account cannot be verified without it.

Questions worth asking support first

  1. Which methods can I use to withdraw, and is it the same method I deposited with?
  2. Is there a minimum withdrawal, and a daily, weekly or monthly maximum?
  3. How long does a request stay pending before it is processed?
  4. Does any method carry a fee, or a currency conversion charge?

Ask in live chat or by email, and keep the reply. A written answer from the operator is worth more than any figure quoted on a third-party site, and it gives you something to point to if a payout later takes longer than promised.

The casino publishes no payment table we could source.

theScore Bet Ontario app and mobile app

theScore Bet is an app-first product. The help centre points players to theScore Bet app on iOS and on Android, and the theScore Bet Ontario app is that same product. The help centre's account rules cover Ontario and Alberta together, while Alberta's register lists theScore Bet Sportsbook and theScore Casino as separate sites.

  • theScore Bet mobile app: sportsbook and casino together, iOS and Android.
  • theScore Casino: a separate casino-only product, which also runs in a web browser.
  • Live chat: offered inside the app.

Download it only from the App Store or Google Play listing, never from a file offered by a third-party site. The terms allow play only in permitted jurisdictions, so the app is for use while you are in Ontario or Alberta.

Is theScore Bet legit? Licence, owner and safety

Yes, on the evidence. theScore Bet appears by name in iGaming Ontario's directory of regulated sites, and the Alberta iGaming Corporation lists both theScore Bet Sportsbook and theScore Casino among its registered sites. AGLC's register shows Score Media & Gaming Inc. as a registrant, with the registration running to 13 July 2027.

  • Operator: Score Media and Gaming Inc.
  • Group: PENN Entertainment, which also holds an Alberta registration for Hollywood Casino.
  • Sister product: theScore Casino, from the same company.
  • Regulator actions: none found in the sources checked.

A provincial registration means the operator answers to a regulator in your own province, and your complaints have somewhere to go. The registration numbers and the operator's address are not on record.

Support channels

Three contact routes are on record:

  • live chat inside the app;
  • email at [email protected];
  • a callback service on 1 (855) 550-1238.

Support hours are not stated, and nothing confirms service in French. That matters less than it would elsewhere, since Quebec is not served, but French-speaking players in Ontario and Alberta should not count on it.

theScore Bet sign up and verification

The theScore Bet sign up runs through the app. The rules the help centre sets out:

  1. Be located in Ontario or Alberta when you register and when you play.
  2. Be at least 19 in Ontario or 18 in Alberta.
  3. Have valid Canadian government-issued ID. Foreign IDs, work permits and student permits are not accepted.
  4. Enter details that match that ID exactly, so the verification check can pass.

The ID rule is strict. A newcomer to Canada holding only a foreign passport or a permit cannot open an account, even while living in Ontario or Alberta. If verification fails, live chat or the callback line is the route to resolve it.

Responsible gambling

The limit and time-out tools inside theScore Bet are not on record in the sources we read, so we cannot list them. Look under the account or responsible-gaming settings in the app before your first deposit and set a deposit limit there.

A provincial self-exclusion program covers the regulated sites of its own province only. Since theScore Bet is registered in both Ontario and Alberta, check with each province's program how it applies to your account. Help lines for both provinces are on our responsible gambling page.

What we could not confirm, and why it matters

Our score uses six parts, and for theScore Bet several rest on missing evidence, which scores nothing. This table shows where each part stands as of 23 October 2026:

Score partOn recordStill missing
Licence and safetyAGCO and iGaming Ontario listing; AGLC registration to 13 July 2027; PENN groupRegistration numbers, operator address
Bonus termsDormant accounts lose access to promotionsThe current welcome offer and its wagering

The bot check on the main site is what blocked the cashier, bonus and responsible-gaming pages. Once they can be read, the zero for payments and the low marks for bonus terms and games will be replaced by scores based on what those pages say, and the date of the change will appear in the log below.

theScore Bet review: who it suits

This theScore Bet review ends with a split verdict. On licence and ownership the brand is solid: two provincial registrations, a large group behind it and no regulator actions found. On almost everything a casino player compares, from welcome offer and payment methods to payout times and game counts, the public record is thin, and our score reflects that.

theScore Bet casino suits an Ontario or Alberta player who already uses the app for sports and wants casino games in the same place. A player choosing a casino purely on bonus terms or payout speed has nothing to compare yet. We will rescore it when those pages can be read; see our review method and the full list of casino reviews.

Verdict on theScore Bet

theScore Bet suits players in Ontario or Alberta who want a provincially regulated casino inside the same app as a sportsbook, run by the PENN Entertainment group. Players in every other province cannot use it. The score is low because no current casino welcome offer, payment method, payout time or limit could be confirmed on 23 October 2026, and a missing fact earns nothing. Watch the ID rule: only Canadian government-issued ID is accepted.

Gambling should stay a choice

Online gambling in Canada is set province by province. Ontario and Alberta license private operators; the other provinces run their own sites, and casinos licensed abroad are not supervised by any Canadian regulator. Real-money play is for adults: 19+, or 18+ in Alberta, Manitoba and Quebec.
