Casino 888, sold as 888casino, says it first opened its doors to players in 1997 and is now part of evoke plc, the group behind 888poker, 888sport and Mr Green. In Canada it works through three separate sites. Ontario has 888casino.ca, run by VHL Ontario Limited under AGCO registration. Alberta has 888.ca, registered with the AGLC by the same company. The rest of the country falls to the international 888casino.com, run from Gibraltar by Virtual Global Digital Services Limited.
Each lane has its own welcome offer, payment list and support set-up. This review keeps them apart, quotes the operator's own pages with the date we read them, and flags where 888's pages contradict each other or where a fact could not be confirmed from outside Canada.
Casino 888 welcome bonus and the wagering in dollars
The two main welcome offers are built very differently, and the cheaper-looking one is not the better deal.
International site (888casino.com)
Read on 23 October 2026, the offer is 100% up to $500 on the first deposit plus 100 Free Spins on Book of Dead at $0.10 each. The minimum deposit is $10, wagering is 30 times the bonus, and the bonus must be cleared within 90 days. Free-spin winnings are credited as bonus money, wagered 30x within 90 days and capped at $20; the spins themselves must be used within 14 days. No promo code is listed for it. One caution: this page was read from a US address and shows plain dollars, so the version a Canadian player sees may differ.
Ontario site (888casino.ca)
The Ontario offer is 100% up to $2000 on a first deposit of at least $20, plus 200 Bonus Spins at $0.1 each on selected Holy Mackerel, Time of the Titans or Gods of Egypt slots, with spin winnings paid as cash. The deposit bonus must be wagered 10 times within 90 days. The page itself is inconsistent about when the spins arrive: its key terms say after the first deposit is wagered once, while its step list says after the deposit bonus is wagered once.
| Bonus received | International: 30x the bonus | Ontario: 10x the bonus | International on blackjack (10%) |
|---|---|---|---|
| C$50 | C$1,500 | C$500 | C$15,000 |
| C$100 | C$3,000 | C$1,000 | C$30,000 |
| C$500 | C$15,000 | C$5,000 | C$150,000 |
| C$2,000 (Ontario only) | - | C$20,000 | - |
Ontario's 10x is a third of the international requirement, but it is still real betting with a house edge on every round, so a match bonus buys playing time rather than a profit.
Game weighting and other clauses
- Slots and games not listed in the table count 100%; Pai Gow, Caribbean and Triple Card poker 20%; blackjack, roulette, baccarat, live casino and video poker 10%. Ontario adds craps at 5%.
- The international bonus cannot be used on Live Baccarat or Live Roulette; the Ontario bonus cannot be used on Live Baccarat.
- In Ontario, withdrawing the qualifying deposit before wagering is complete cancels the deposit bonus.
- Ontario bonus winnings earned before a first real-money deposit are capped at $100.
Other promotions
Beyond the welcome offers, the Ontario promotions page lists the Daily Wish Game, which unlocks daily prizes for 30 days after a $100 deposit, with a bonus wager of x5. The international site points regular players to the 888casino VIP Club and the Elite Lounge, a set of private live-casino tables. Its umbrella portal also advertises offers for the sister brands, $8 free with no deposit at 888poker and a $20 free bet at 888sport if a first bet of $20 or more loses, but those belong to separate products with their own terms.

Wagering in plain dollars - Main site
Deposit C$100 and take the 100% match: the bonus is C$100. At x30 on the bonus (C$100), you must place C$3,000 in bets before bonus winnings can be withdrawn.
Worked from the published match, multiplier and wagering base source. Games that count less than 100% make the real figure higher.
Ontario site: Ontario's regulator allows casino bonuses to be advertised only on the casino's own site (AGCO Standard 2.05), so its offer is not listed here.
888 Casino games: lobby size and titles
The 888 Casino games Canada players can open depend on the lane. The Canadian About page claims more than 2,000 games, and the Ontario welcome page refers to over 2000 exciting slot games. 888 does not break that down into live dealer, table or jackpot counts, and no provider list appears on the pages read, so we do not name studios. The international lobby's size was not captured at all.
Titles featured in the Ontario Top Games carousel and on the app listing include:
- Mad Max Fury Road and Game of Thrones
- Millionaire Genie Megaways and Chilli Con Carnival
- Holy Mackerel Extreme Fishing and Big Bass Splash
- Sweet Bonanza 1000 and Gates of Olympus 1000
The promotions page also points to 888 exclusive jackpots and 888 Exclusive games, which 888 presents as its own exclusives. On the international site, Book of Dead is the slot tied to the welcome spins. The Ontario About page says players can access a monthly Casino Pay-out Percentage, but the page shows no figure, so check each game's own information screen for its return to player.

Deposits and withdrawals
Interac e-Transfer works both ways on the Ontario and international sites, and the shared Canadian pages list it for Alberta too; the international help centre lists Interac e-Transfer and Interac Online 'For Canada members'. Accounts run in Canadian dollars, and neither the Ontario nor the international site accepts crypto.
- Ontario and Alberta pages: Interac e-Transfer, Visa, Apple Pay and MuchBetter for deposits and withdrawals; Mastercard and Paysafecard for deposits only; wire transfer for withdrawals.
- International site: Interac, Visa, Apple Pay, Skrill, Neteller, PayPal and Luxon Pay both ways; iDebit, Mastercard and Paysafecard for deposits; wire transfer for withdrawals, with Canadian bank fields. Card deposits start at 10CAD.
888 Casino withdrawal time, step by step
On the international site, every withdrawal request is processed three business days from the date it is made (one business day for casino Gold VIP members), and you can cancel it during that window. The payment method then adds its own time:
- Interac e-Transfer: an additional 1-3 days after processing.
- Skrill, Neteller, PayPal or Luxon Pay: 1-2 days more, for 4-5 days in total.
- Visa and Apple Pay: up to 5 days more, for up to 8 days in total.
The Ontario site has a time-frames page, but its table could not be captured, so we do not quote Ontario payout times. What it does publish is a minimum withdrawal of $5 CAD for Interac, Visa and wire, and no published maximum.
Limits and checks
Mastercard and all Canadian-issued debit cards cannot receive withdrawals, so a card depositor needs a second method ready. Both user agreements allow 888 to ask for ID, proof of address and proof of payment at any time, possibly notarised, and to run source-of-funds checks; the Canadian help centre asks you to allow up to 72 hours for document review. The Canadian user agreement also lets the operator charge a non-refundable fee on bets, deposits or wins to offset GST/HST.

888 Casino app review: mobile in Canada
The 888 Casino mobile Canada picture is split across two iPhone apps in the Canadian App Store. The 888 Casino app Ontario and Alberta players use is '888 Casino: Play Games Online', published by 888 UK Limited and described as for players located in Ontario or Alberta. A second listing, '888 Casino: Real Money Games', belongs to the international operation.
On Android, the international help centre directs players to an APK download from 888casino.com rather than Google Play. No Android listing for the Ontario or Alberta app was recorded, so Android users in those provinces should plan on the browser. Every 888 site runs in a mobile browser, which avoids installing files from outside an app store.
Our 888 Casino app review stops at what the listings and help pages say: we do not rate speed or design we have not measured. The practical point is to install the app that matches your province, since the Ontario site only serves players located in Ontario.
Is 888 Casino legit? Licences, owner and safety
On the paperwork, yes. The international site's user agreement (version 106.0, updated 05/08/2026) names Virtual Global Digital Services Limited, 601-701 Europort, Europort Road, Gibraltar, GX11 1AA, company number 114612, part of the evoke Group, holding Gibraltar Remote Gaming Licence Numbers 112 and 113, as applicable. No register link is published for those licences.
In Ontario, VHL Ontario Limited runs 888casino.ca and is listed in the iGaming Ontario directory of regulated sites as '888 Casino'. The AGCO registration number is not printed on the pages read. 888 moved its Ontario players onto the regulated platform on 04.04.2022. In Alberta, the AGLC register lists VHL Ontario Limited as an iGaming operator for 888.ca with registration expiring 2027-07-13, and Alberta iGaming Corporation lists the site as operated by 'VHL Ontario Ltd o/a Evoke PLC'.
We found no AGCO monetary penalty naming VHL Ontario or 888 in a search of the regulator's news on 23 October 2026, and no Gibraltar or Alberta action either, though the Gibraltar search was not exhaustive. No independent testing lab certificate appears on the pages read.
So, is 888 Casino safe? The regulated sites give Ontario and Alberta players provincial oversight and complaint routes. The international site is regulated in Gibraltar, not by any Canadian province, and it does not publish which countries it accepts: our evidence that it serves Canada is its help centre's Interac and Canadian bank-transfer instructions and CAD minimums. The user agreement also lets the operator keep funds and close accounts for bonus abuse or 'bad faith' use, a standard but broad clause.
Customer support and French
The Canadian help centre lists three routes: live chat around the clock, available only when logged in; an email form with no address shown; and a toll-free phone line, +1 833 6778 890, open daily from 8am to 12am ET. The international site offers live chat through a 'Message Us' button in its help widget, with no phone or email listed.
French speakers get less. The Canadian sites list English only, with no French support. The international help centre runs in British English, American English and Spanish. A French-language 888 site exists at fr.888.com, but nothing says it serves Quebec. The brand says 888casino is available in 18 languages, so the gap is in Canadian support, not the product.
How to sign up and log in
- Choose the site for where you are physically located: 888casino.ca in Ontario, 888.ca in Alberta, 888casino.com elsewhere.
- Register with details that match your ID; 888 can ask for proof at any time.
- On the Ontario site, a 50 Free Spins registration offer needs no deposit; its winnings must be wagered 5x within 90 days. It runs from 8.6.26 to 31.12.28 per its terms.
- Make a first deposit if you want the welcome offer; no promo code is listed.
- Upload verification documents early, allowing up to 72 hours for review, so your first withdrawal is not held up.
Location matters at login. The Canadian help centre states that you must be physically located in the province of Ontario to play at the Ontario site, and logging into the Alberta site is likewise limited to Alberta. Live chat on the Canadian site needs you to be logged in, so if you cannot get in at all, use the phone line.
Responsible gambling and dormant accounts
The Canadian sites offer deposit limits, self-exclusion with account closure, and links to BetGuard (betguard.ca), a set of player tools listed in the help centre. The international site's tools were not captured, so we cannot list them. Set a limit before you take a bonus: even a 10x requirement on C$2,000 means C$20,000 of bets. More help, including provincial lines, is on our responsible gambling page.
Leaving money in an idle account costs money. After 365 consecutive days without a login, the Canadian user agreement charges 8.00 CAD a month while the balance is positive, and the international one 5.00 EUR or the equivalent. The Canadian help centre says something harsher: a dormant account is closed after one year and the remaining balance removed after 30 days. The two pages conflict, so the safe reading is to withdraw before you stop playing.
Where Canadians can play: Ontario, Alberta, Quebec
A search for 888 Casino CA can lead to 888casino.ca, the Ontario site, but there are three lanes:
| Ontario (888casino.ca) | Alberta (888.ca) | Rest of Canada (888casino.com) | |
|---|---|---|---|
| Operator | VHL Ontario Limited | VHL Ontario Limited | Virtual Global Digital Services Limited |
| Regulator | AGCO registration + iGaming Ontario | AGLC registration + AiGC | Gibraltar, licences 112 and 113 |
| Minimum age | 19+ | 18+ (provincial rule) | 18+ or local legal age, whichever is higher |
| Welcome match | 100% up to $2000, 10x | Not published for Alberta | 100% up to $500, 30x |
| Phone support | Toll-free, 8am to 12am ET | Same Canadian help centre | Not listed |
888 Casino Ontario review: the regulated lane
For Ontario this 888 Casino Ontario review comes out favourably on terms: a lighter wagering requirement, cash-paying bonus spins, a $5 minimum withdrawal and a phone line. The province's own site is reviewed under OLG.
Alberta and Quebec
Alberta's market opened on 13 July 2026. Every 888.ca page we could read from outside Canada still showed the Ontario footer, so treat the Alberta details as provisional; the Ontario offer says it is only for players located in Ontario. Quebec and the other provinces fall to the international site, which holds no provincial licence. Quebec's own regulated option is covered in our Loto-Quebec review, and playing in Canada explains the provincial systems.
Who 888casino suits, and who should skip it
888casino suits an Ontario or Alberta player who wants a long-running brand with provincial oversight, Interac both ways and small withdrawals from C$5. The Ontario welcome match, at 10x the bonus, is far easier to clear than the international 30x, and its spins pay cash. A phone line is a real plus when chat needs a login.
Elsewhere in Canada the case is weaker. The international site is properly licensed in Gibraltar, but its terms were read from a US address, its Canadian acceptance is implied rather than stated, its wagering is 30x, and payouts take three business days before the method adds its own. French-speaking players will find no French support on the Canadian site.
Compare it with other brands on our casino reviews page, and see how we review for how the six sub-scores are set.
