For Captain Cooks Canada players are really choosing between three casinos that share a name. Launched in 2000 and part of the Casino Rewards group, the brand now has three lanes: Ontario has its own AGCO-regulated version, Alberta has an AGLC-registered one, and the rest of the country uses an offshore site licensed by the Kahnawake Gaming Commission. Each comes with its own terms and its own operator.
What sets Captain Cooks apart from its sister brands is the entry price and the length of the welcome package: C$5 for the first reward, then four more deposit matches worth up to $475 in total. Below we take the package apart in dollars, then cover payouts, apps, the licences and the one regulator penalty on record, using the casino's own pages as checked on 23 October 2026.
The welcome package: five deposits, two wagering rates
The package, as the casino words it in October 2026, runs over five deposits:
- "100 Chances to win $1 Million for $5 on Mega Money Wheel", each spin valued at $0.10.
- 100% match up to $100.
- 50% match up to $150.
- 25% match up to $125.
- 100% match up to $100.
That is "up to $475 in welcome bonuses across the next four deposits" on top of the spins. No code is required. Taking every reward in full means depositing C$1,005 in total, because the 50% and 25% steps only reach their caps at C$300 and C$500.
Wagering is where the offshore site and the provincial ones differ. Offshore, the first and second deposit bonuses carry 200 times play-through, and the third deposit onwards carries 30 times. In Ontario and Alberta all deposit bonuses carry 30 times. Treating the site's "$" as Canadian dollars:
| Deposit | To get the full reward | Bonus | Wagering offshore | Wagering in Ontario or Alberta |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 2nd | C$100 | C$100 | C$20,000 (200x) | C$3,000 |
| 3rd | C$300 | C$150 | C$4,500 (30x) | C$4,500 |
| 4th | C$500 | C$125 | C$3,750 (30x) | C$3,750 |
| 5th | C$100 | C$100 | C$3,000 (30x) | C$3,000 |
| Total | C$1,000 | C$475 | C$31,250 | C$14,250 |
Two things follow. Offshore, the second-deposit match alone accounts for almost two-thirds of the total wagering, so skipping it and taking only the later steps is a reasonable choice. And because unused bonuses are forfeited 60 days after registration, all five steps have to fit inside that window.
Bets must stay under 25% of the bonus value until the play-through is done, or winnings can be voided: C$25 on a C$100 bonus, C$37.50 on the C$150 one. Slots count 100%; table, live and parlour games count 2%; All Aces Video Poker and Flippin' Awesome Shields of Asgard count 0%.
Is the whole package worth chasing? One way to test it is against the house edge. eCOGRA's group slot figure for the third quarter of 2026 was 96.05%, so on average about 3.95% of each dollar wagered on slots stays with the casino. Clearing all five steps offshore means C$31,250 of slot play, which on that average costs around C$1,234, well above the C$475 in bonuses. In Ontario or Alberta the C$14,250 of play averages about C$563, still more than the bonus but far closer. Averages hide big swings, so treat this as a guide to the size of the trade-off rather than a forecast.

Captain Cooks Canada loyalty: what Casino Rewards adds
Captain Cooks is part of Casino Rewards, the loyalty programme of the group behind it. Status climbs through six levels as you play. Points convert at 100 VIP points to $1 in casino chips, and redemption opens at 1,000 points, so the first redeemable amount is $10.
The group lists four recurring promotions on top of that: Time Of Your Life Sweepstakes, VIP Lucky Jackpot, Rewards Riches and Drop & Wins. The terms we read do not fix their prizes or entry rules, so look at the current promotion page before you rely on one.
Chips from points and promotions are bonus money under the same rules as the welcome package. Think of loyalty as a small rebate on play you would do anyway, not as a reason to play longer.
Captain Cooks games and what the lobby discloses
Captain Cooks games are where the casino's own pages say the least. No total is published, not even an approximate one, and no split between slots, table and live games. The only software credit on the group's page for the brand is Apricot.
The pieces that are documented:
- a live dealer section with blackjack, roulette, baccarat and game shows;
- progressive jackpots including the Mega Moolah family, not offered in every region;
- Mega Money Wheel, which the first-deposit spins are played on;
- a group promise of "the best available win rate or Return to Player (RTP) version" of each supplier's games.
The figure that can be checked is eCOGRA's group-wide payout report for 01 July to 30 September 2026. All games returned 96.11%, slots 96.05%, table games 97.83%, poker 97.54% and other games 93.06%. These are averages over a quarter of play across the whole group; your own results can land far from them, and the house edge applies throughout.

Captain Cooks withdrawal time and payment methods
Money in goes by Interac, handled by PayDirect Billing Solutions Inc., or by Visa and Mastercard. Captain Cooks runs a newer site template without its own FAQ page, so the banking rules come from the group FAQ shared by all Casino Rewards casinos. That FAQ lists Canada's withdrawal routes as cards, Canadian EFT or eCheck, Skrill and bank wire. Interac is not among them.
| Route out | Minimum | Transfer time after processing | Likely total from request |
|---|---|---|---|
| Skrill | C$50 | 1 to 3 working days | about 4 to 6 days |
| EFT / eCheck | C$50 | 2 to 3 working days | about 5 to 6 days |
| Visa (OCT) or Mastercard | C$50 | 3 working days | about 6 days |
| Bank wire | C$300 | 6 to 10 working days | about 9 to 13 days |
The right-hand column adds the offshore 48-hour pending period and the next-business-day processing to each transfer time; it is our arithmetic from the terms, not a measured result. The Ontario and Alberta terms leave out the 48-hour clause and speak only of a possible processing period on weekdays, although the group FAQ still mentions 48 hours. A first payout to a method you have not used before can add 5 to 7 working days.
Skrill, EFT and card payouts are free. A wire costs $50, or $100 over $3,000 (the terms state these fees in US dollars), and a 2.5% charge applies to currency conversion. The weekly cap is the bigger issue for lucky players: anyone who wins substantially more than they have deposited across Casino Rewards casinos is paid no more than $4,000 a week.

Captain Cooks casino mobile app
The Captain Cooks casino mobile app exists for one province. "Captain Cooks Casino Ontario" is on the Canadian App Store and Google Play, and it serves players located in Ontario. There is no app for the offshore or Alberta site in either store.
Elsewhere, Captain Cooks mobile casino play happens in the phone browser, with the same account, the same bonus terms and the same withdrawal routes as on a computer. The casino does not publish a game count for any device, so we cannot compare the mobile and desktop lobbies.
For Ontario players the app is an alternative to the browser, not a different casino: the Ontario terms, limits and bonus rules still apply. Because the Ontario terms tie play to being inside the province, the app is of no use to a player in Manitoba, Quebec or anywhere else, who should stay with the browser version of the site that serves them.
Licence, operator and safety record
Who you are dealing with depends on the site:
- Offshore: Fresh Horizons Limited, Palm Grove House, Road Town, Tortola, British Virgin Islands, under Kahnawake Gaming Commission licence 00972. The company is on the commission's permit-holders list and the footer certificate page is live.
- Ontario: Apollo Entertainment Limited, a Maltese company numbered C45483, regulated by the AGCO under an operating agreement with iGaming Ontario and listed in the iGaming Ontario directory.
- Alberta: the same Apollo company, registered with the AGLC under an agreement with Alberta iGaming Corporation and listed in the AiGC directory.
The games hold eCOGRA's "Safe & Fair" seal for 09 December 2025 to 08 December 2026. Neither provincial terms page prints a registration number, so look the sites up in the iGaming Ontario and AiGC directories yourself if you want to confirm them.
The public record has one entry. In August 2023 the AGCO issued a C$100,000 monetary penalty to Apollo Entertainment Ltd. for alleged failures on player interventions, voluntary self-exclusion and limit-setting, citing one player who lost over $2 million in less than four months. We found no action against Fresh Horizons on the Kahnawake site and none from the AGLC.
The record in dates:
- 2000: Captain Cooks launches; it is now part of the Casino Rewards group.
- August 2023: AGCO penalty against the Ontario operator.
- December 2025: current eCOGRA certification period starts.
- 13 July 2026: Alberta's regulated market opens; the brand's Alberta site is now in the AiGC directory.
Read two more clauses before you join. Inactive accounts can have their balance removed after up to 60 days, with cash returned on request and bonuses lost. The terms also permit using player data for AI training and machine-learning development, with consent sought where the law requires it.
Support, languages and French
All three sites offer 24/7 live chat and email to [email protected], where replies are promised within 48 hours; payment questions go to [email protected]. No phone number is published.
Email is the slower route and is best kept for documents and complaints that need a written record. For a deposit that has not arrived, the casino points you to the banking address rather than general support.
The offshore site comes in English, French and German, and the Ontario site in English and French. Alberta's is English only. A "multilingual support team" is mentioned, but French on chat is not confirmed anywhere we looked.
Signing up and logging in
Open the account on the site that matches your location: the Ontario and Alberta terms each make you confirm you are wagering from inside that province. The minimum age is 19 in all three sets of terms. The first reward needs a C$5 deposit within 7 days of joining.
Before cashing out you will be asked to prove who you are: government photo ID, proof you own the payment method and, offshore, a proof of address no more than three months old. Notarised copies may be requested. Sending them in the first week saves waiting later.
Logging in afterwards uses the email and password you chose. If access fails, the usual causes are being on the wrong provincial site, being outside Ontario or Alberta when using those sites, or an active cooling-off or self-exclusion. Live chat can sort out the rest at any hour.
Responsible gambling on each site
In Ontario and Alberta, limits are built into the account: deposit, loss and session-time limits by day, week or month, a cooling-off break from 24 hours to 3 months, and self-exclusion from 6 months to 5 years. The Ontario site connects to BetGuard and the Alberta site to the AGLC's central self-exclusion.
The offshore site offers less: deposit limits through support, cooling-off for 24 hours to 6 weeks, a 6-month self-exclusion, a self-assessment test and a referral to the Kahnawake commission's broader exclusion. If you want strict control, the provincial sites are the better choice. A practical order works well: set a monthly deposit limit when you open the account, add a loss limit if the site offers one, and use a cooling-off break the moment play stops being fun. Free help lines for each province are on our responsible gambling page.
Which Captain Cooks Casino official website serves your province
There is no single Captain Cooks Casino official website for the whole country. The Ontario site serves Ontario, the Alberta site serves Alberta, which opened its regulated market on 13 July 2026, and the offshore site serves Quebec and every other province, with a French version.
| Where you are | Site | Licence | Bonus wagering |
|---|---|---|---|
| Ontario | Ontario site | AGCO, iGaming Ontario agreement | 30x on all deposit bonuses |
| Alberta | Alberta site | AGLC, AiGC agreement | 30x on all deposit bonuses |
| Quebec and other provinces | Offshore site | Kahnawake 00972 (not provincial) | 200x on 1st and 2nd, 30x after |
Each province also runs its own online casino, for example OLG in Ontario and Loto-Québec in Quebec. The legal age is 19 in most provinces and 18 in Alberta, Manitoba and Quebec; Captain Cooks sets 19 throughout. See playing in Canada for the full picture.
Captain Cooks casino sister sites and who it suits
The Captain Cooks casino sister sites in our reviews include Yukon Gold, Zodiac, Luxury, Grand Mondial, Golden Tiger, Quatro, Casino Classic and Villento. Banking, support and loyalty are shared; the welcome offers are what differ.
Many Captain Cooks reviews treat it as one casino with one bonus. In practice:
- It suits low-budget slot players, especially in Ontario and Alberta where every step clears at 30x, and anyone who values a long-running group with eCOGRA testing.
- It does not suit live-dealer and table players chasing bonus value, or players who expect large wins to land in one payment.
- Before you deposit, decide whether you will take the offshore second-deposit match at 200x, and set a deposit limit.
Other Captain Cooks online casino reviews may score it differently; ours is built only from the facts above, as explained on how we review. Compare every brand on our reviews page.
