BetOnline is an offshore sportsbook, casino and poker site at betonline.ag that takes players from Canada and the United States. Its terms place it under the gaming regulator of Panama, its help centre says the management team has been active since 1991, and its cashier lists 17 cryptocurrencies next to a short set of traditional methods. Every account is held in US dollars, so Canadian deposits are converted by the payment processor.
This review sticks to what BetOnline's own banking page, help centre and terms say, checked in October 2026. Two themes come up again and again: crypto withdrawals are cheap and quick, while almost everything else costs a fee; and the brand publishes far less about itself than a regulated Canadian site has to. Where the facts stop, we say so rather than fill the gap.
The BetOnline welcome offer for new Canadian players
BetOnline's welcome deal is built for its sportsbook, with casino spins added on. On a first-ever deposit of at least $10, it gives:
- 50% of the deposit back as Sportsbook Free Bet credit, up to $250;
- 100 Free Spins, released as 10 a day for 10 days, on a different game each day.
No BetOnline promo code is needed, the offer is limited to users located in North America, and amounts are in US dollars. The Free Bet credit lasts 30 days, while each day's spins expire 24 hours after they are issued. Winnings from all 100 spins together are capped at $100.
For a casino player the useful part is therefore the spins, and their value is limited by that cap. The free bet only works on sports.

Rakeback, VIP rewards and referrals
For ongoing play, the main feature is Casino Rakeback. It returns a share of the house edge on every casino bet, at all VIP levels. It is credited as cash with no rollover and does not expire. Two games are left out: "Trader" and Craps.
The VIP Rewards scheme starts at Bronze and adds Monthly and Post-Monthly Reloads, a Level Up bonus, a Weekly Cash Boost from Silver upwards, Daily Cash Races and Birthday Rewards. The help centre does not publish the rakeback percentage per tier, so we cannot say how much it returns.
The Refer-a-Friend programme, open to the USA and Canada, pays 50% up to $100 for each referred friend who deposits $50 or more, with a 1x rollover. Rakeback is a refund of part of what the house edge takes; it reduces losses over time but does not turn play into a profit.
Games and fairness: what BetOnline publishes
On the lobby pages read for this review, BetOnline publishes no game count and no list of software providers. That makes it impossible to say how many slots, table games or live dealer tables it carries, or which studios supply them, and we do not guess.
Some pieces are visible from the terms. The site runs casino and poker software, and Craps and a game called "Trader" are named in the rakeback rules. The bonus rules state that bonuses are restricted to classic casino games, with 3D slots and newer titles not eligible. On fairness, BetOnline says the random number generators of its casino and poker software are approved by Gaming Laboratories International (GLI), but it links no certificate, so the claim cannot be checked against a document.
BetOnline publishes no payout percentage either. As with any casino, every game carries a house edge, and short sessions can end far from the long-run average.
The casino publishes no game counts or provider list we could source.
BetOnline payout methods for deposits and withdrawals
The cashier divides into crypto, which does most of the work, and a few older fiat routes. There is no Interac, and the account currency is USD only.
Crypto
Bitcoin, Ethereum, Tether, USD Coin, Litecoin, Bitcoin Cash, Avalanche, BNB, Cardano, Dogecoin, Polygon, Ripple, Shiba Inu, Solana, Stellar, Tron and Trump all work both ways. Each needs at least $10 to deposit and $20 to withdraw. Bitcoin, Ethereum, Tether and USD Coin have no upper limit; the other coins cap withdrawals at $10,000 to $50,000 depending on the coin.
Fiat
- Credit or debit card: deposits only, $25 to $2,500, with a processing fee shown at deposit that depends on the amount, card type and VIP level and cannot be waived.
- Person to Person: deposits $100 to $600, withdrawals $50 to $400.
- Money Order: deposits $300 to $9,000, withdrawals $1,000 to $3,000.
- Wire transfer: withdrawals only, $2,500 to $25,000.
- Check by courier: withdrawals only, $500 to $2,500.
BetOnline's banking page lists the Money Order withdrawal maximum as $5,000 while its withdrawal-limits article says $3,000; we use the article and suggest confirming with support. Because Canadian-dollar deposits are converted to US dollars by the processor, exchange costs come on top of any fee.

BetOnline cash out: speed, fees and rules
A BetOnline cash out is cheapest in Bitcoin, which the help centre marks as free and paid within 24 hours. Other coins pay within 24 hours too, but carry a tiered network or processing fee starting at $1.50. Fiat methods take days and cost more. The table shows what each route costs for two example withdrawals:
| Method | Time stated | Cost on US$1,000 | Cost on US$5,000 |
|---|---|---|---|
| Bitcoin | Within 24 hours | Free | Free |
| Other crypto | Within 24 hours | From $1.50 | From $1.50 |
| Check by courier | Within 7 business days | $50 | Not possible (max $2,500) |
| Money Order | Within 7 business days | $80 | Not possible (max $3,000) |
| Wire transfer | Within 15 business days | Not possible (min $2,500) | $60 |
| Person to Person | Within 5 business days | Not possible (max $400) | Not possible |
Person to Person fees run from $26 to $51 depending on the amount. Wire withdrawals above $5,000 cost 3%, and checks above $1,500 cost 3%.
Before the BetOnline payout arrives
- Every deposit must be rolled over once before any withdrawal.
- After a card deposit you wait 3 calendar days before withdrawing; after an e-check deposit, 7 business days.
- BetOnline aims to process requests within 24 hours, but some methods are handled only Monday to Friday, 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Eastern.
- Maximums apply per transaction and per week. Crypto withdrawals are unlimited in number.
- Verification can ask for photo ID, both sides of every card used, and a utility bill or bank statement.
No BetOnline cashout is paid in C$: the fiat routes (wire from US$2,500, check by courier, Money Order and Person to Person) all pay US dollars, and crypto has to be converted outside BetOnline.
Mobile play
BetOnline runs in a mobile browser. We could not confirm a BetOnline app in the Canadian App Store or on Google Play, and the site's own pages do not point to one, so the browser is the only route we can confirm. Any download offered outside the casino's own site should be treated with care.
Is BetOnline safe? Licence, owner and lookalike sites
BetOnline's terms, in clause 13 "About", say it is licensed by the Junta de Control de Juegos of Panama's Ministry of Economy and Finance. No licence number or register link is published, and the legal name of the company is not given; the help centre lists only Panama City as its location. That leaves a player with nothing to look up in a public register.
- History: management active "since 1991" and "over 25 years" in the business, with no launch year for the casino itself.
- Testing: GLI approval of the casino and poker RNGs, without a certificate.
- Regulator actions: none found in the sources checked.
- Bonus control: BetOnline "reserves the right to take away any bonus at any time without explanation".
One more point for anyone searching by name: betonline-casino.com is not the casino. It is an affiliate page that links to the real site, betonline.ag. Check the address bar before entering card or wallet details.
Names that are not BetOnline
Some casino names pair "bet online" with numbers such as 777 or 888. They are not BetOnline: it publishes no 777-branded offer and no free chips among its promotions, and 888 is a different brand, covered in our 888 Casino review. BetOnline itself is a real-money site, in US dollars and crypto only.
Support and language
BetOnline's support runs through a live chat bubble on the site and a help centre at help.betonline.ag. No support email, phone number or opening hours are published on the pages read, and nothing says whether help is offered in French. Players in Quebec should not count on a French interface or French-speaking agents, since neither is confirmed.
Responsible-gambling tools
BetOnline offers three ways to step back, each with a different level of commitment:
- Time-out for 1 week, 1 month, 3 months or 6 months. Once set, it cannot be reversed early.
- Regular account closure, which can be undone later.
- Self-exclusion, which is permanent and irreversible, and covers this site only.
Deposit limits, loss limits and reality checks are not among the tools listed. Provincial self-exclusion schemes such as Ontario's BetGuard apply only to that province's regulated sites, and BetOnline is not one of them. Free, confidential help is listed province by province on our responsible gambling page.
BetOnline Ontario, Alberta and the rest of Canada
BetOnline runs one offshore site for every province. It holds no Ontario registration with the AGCO, no iGaming Ontario agreement, and no Alberta registration with AGLC or agreement with the Alberta iGaming Corporation, whose market opened on 13 July 2026. No province licenses it.
| Province | Site | Provincial licence |
|---|---|---|
| Ontario | betonline.ag | None |
| Alberta | betonline.ag | None |
| Quebec | betonline.ag | None |
| Rest of Canada | betonline.ag | None |
BetOnline does not publish a list of restricted countries or provinces. Its acceptance of Canada comes from two lines: the Refer-a-Friend article says it takes players from the USA and Canada, and the welcome offer is valid in North America only. Its terms also do not state a minimum age, so the provincial rule is the one to follow: 19+ in most provinces, 18+ in Alberta, Manitoba and Quebec. The playing in Canada guide explains how provincial sites and offshore ones differ.
Who BetOnline suits
BetOnline makes sense for a player who already holds Bitcoin, bets on sports as well as casino games, and values a large or frequent cash-out without a ceiling. Rakeback paid as cash with no rollover is a real plus for regular players.
It is a poor match for anyone who wants Interac, a C$ balance, deposit limits on the account, a casino welcome bonus of any size, or a licence that can be checked in a public register. Players weighing other crypto casinos can compare our reviews of Stake and BitStarz, or browse all our casino reviews. The how we review page shows how missing facts pull a score down.
