Our verdict

PlayNow Manitoba suits adults in Manitoba who want a casino run by their own province, with a match offer at 20x wagering and limits built into sign-up. Anyone outside Manitoba cannot use it. The weak points are what it does not publish: no game count, no studios, no withdrawal methods or times, and no app link on the pages read. Watch the inactivity rule: an account with no deposits or bets for a year can be closed.

PlayNow Manitoba CA is the online casino of Manitoba Liquor & Lotteries, the province's Crown corporation, at playnow.com/mb. It is open only to Manitoba residents who are physically in Manitoba, and it runs on the PlayNow platform shared with the British Columbia Lottery Corporation, which is why the player agreement names both organisations.

Because the province runs it, the questions here are different from an offshore review. There is no doubt about who holds your money. What matters is how the welcome offer works, what limits you have to set, how withdrawals are handled and what to do when the site will not let you in. This review answers those from the PlayNow player agreement (dated 25 April 2024), the Manitoba promotions and GameSense pages and the contact page, all read on 23 October 2026.

The PlayNow Manitoba CA welcome offer: pick one of three

New players choose one sign-up offer, and only one per player is allowed. The Manitoba promotions page lists three:

Sign-up offerWhat is published
Casino Match Deposit OfferSelected at registration; first deposit of C$5 to C$1,500; spend through the first deposit to receive a match deposit token; 20x wagering on the token
$150 Live Casino Sign Up BonusNamed on the promotions page; detailed terms not read for this review
$50 Lottery Sign Up BonusA lottery offer rather than a casino one

The order of events matters with the casino match. You choose it while registering, make your first deposit, and then play through that deposit. Only after the cumulative first deposit has been spent does the match deposit token arrive. The token then carries wagering of "twenty times (20x)".

Which sign-up offer to choose

Because only one offer is allowed, the choice is a real trade-off. The match is tied to your first deposit, within the C$5 to C$1,500 range. The $150 Live Casino Sign Up Bonus names the same headline figure without a deposit size in its title, but its terms were not read, so compare its conditions in the account before you pick. Lottery players have the $50 option instead.

Is there a PlayNow Manitoba promo code?

The pages read name no promo code for the match offer or the other sign-up bonuses as of October 2026. The match is chosen by selecting it at registration, so a player who skips that step should contact support rather than look for a code.

What 20x wagering on the match token means in dollars

The wagering rule is printed plainly: the match deposit token must be played through "twenty times (20x)". What the offer page does not print is a match percentage, so the size of the token for a given deposit is not stated. The name "match deposit" suggests the token equals the first deposit, within the C$5 to C$1,500 range, but that is a reading of the name rather than a quoted term.

The arithmetic to do once the token is in your account is short: multiply the token by 20 to get the play required. Remember that the first deposit itself has to be spent through before the token arrives, so the total play is that deposit plus 20 times the token. Pick a first deposit that fits inside the weekly deposit limit you set at registration.

Game weighting, maximum bet and expiry for the token are not stated on the offer page we read. Check them in the account before playing the token on table or live games.

Other PlayNow Manitoba promotions

After the welcome stage, the Manitoba promotions page lists:

  • Mega Vault: featured games from Friday to Sunday.
  • Blackjack rebate.
  • Bet sports get casino: a cross-promotion from the sports side to the casino.
  • $150 Live Casino Sign Up Bonus, for players who chose it instead of the match.

The page gives names rather than full terms for these, so we do not quote amounts or wagering. Read each offer's own terms in the account before opting in.

Games on PlayNow Manitoba

PlayNow publishes categories but not counts. The casino page lists slots, progressive jackpots, Live Casino, and table games under Poker, Baccarat, Roulette and Blackjack. No list of software studios is published on the pages read.

Featured titles on the Manitoba casino page include:

  • Mystery of the Lamp: Enchanted Palace
  • Powerbucks Whitney Houston
  • Mo Mo Mo Mummy Midnight Treasures
  • Huff N' Lots of Puff Goals!
  • Triple Cash Eruption The Western

No testing-lab certificate or payout percentage is published on the pages read.

Deposits, withdrawals and balance limits

The player agreement gives these as examples of deposit methods:

  • debit card;
  • credit card;
  • Interac Online;
  • PayPal;
  • online bill payment.

The minimum first deposit for the match offer is C$5, and every deposit sits inside the weekly deposit limit you set at registration, which itself cannot exceed a maximum set by Manitoba Liquor & Lotteries. There is no crypto, and the account runs in Canadian dollars.

Withdrawals are the gap. The public pages do not list withdrawal methods, minimums or payout times, so we cannot tell you how long a payout takes. What the agreement does say:

  • Unused deposits are refunded to the original payment method.
  • MBLL or BCLC may ask for ID and documents before processing a withdrawal, including for FINTRAC compliance.
  • An Account Balance Limit caps how much can be held in the account, and MBLL can change it.
  • No withdrawal cap is published.

Because of the balance limit, a large win may need to be withdrawn rather than left in the account. Contact support for the current figure.

Mobile access

No PlayNow Manitoba app link appeared on the pages we read, and nothing there describes a Manitoba casino app. We therefore cannot confirm whether one exists or how it works. The location rule applies on any device: the agreement requires players to be physically located in Manitoba, so a phone used while travelling outside the province does not change who can play.

Who runs it: licence and safety

PlayNow Manitoba is not a private casino with a licence; it is the province's own operation.

  • Operator: Manitoba Liquor & Lotteries (MBLL), A - 1555 Buffalo Place, Winnipeg, Manitoba.
  • Status: a Crown corporation of the Province of Manitoba, with oversight from the Liquor, Gaming and Cannabis Authority of Manitoba.
  • Platform: PlayNow, shared with the British Columbia Lottery Corporation. The player agreement refers to both MBLL and BCLC, and British Columbia and Saskatchewan have their own PlayNow sites.
  • Who can play: Manitoba residents aged 18 or over who are physically located in Manitoba.

Because the operator is the province, PlayNow Manitoba sits outside the Ontario and Alberta regulated markets entirely. No licence or registration number is published for it.

Support and French

PlayNow Manitoba lists four ways to reach support:

  • Phone: 1-877-706-6789.
  • Live chat: with Customer Support and with GameSense Advisors.
  • Contact form, and [email protected] for sending documents.
  • Hours: daily from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 a.m. Central Time; poker support runs 24/7.

GameSense Advisors appear both in the chat and in the list of responsible-gambling tools, which makes them the people to ask about limits, lockouts and self-exclusion. Documents for a withdrawal check go to [email protected].

The site is in English. The player agreement is available in French on request, but the pages read do not promise French-language support.

Signing up, and PlayNow Manitoba not working

Registration asks for limits before play. You set a weekly deposit limit and a play-time limit, daily or weekly, as part of signing up, and you select a welcome offer at the same stage. You need to be 18 or older, a Manitoba resident and physically in Manitoba.

PlayNow Manitoba not working today? What to check

The pages read do not cover outages, so we cannot say whether the site is down at a given moment. They do explain several reasons an account can stop you from playing or depositing:

  1. Location: the site is available exclusively to players located in Manitoba.
  2. Your own limits: once the weekly deposit limit or the play-time limit you set is reached, expect deposits or play to be blocked until the period resets.
  3. A lockout or self-exclusion: a short-term lockout runs from 24 hours to 3 months, and Voluntary Self-Exclusion is also offered.
  4. An inactive account: after a year with no deposits and no bets, MBLL and BCLC may close the account.
  5. The balance limit: an account at its Account Balance Limit cannot hold more funds.
  6. Documents: a withdrawal can wait on ID or FINTRAC paperwork.

If none of these explains why PlayNow Manitoba is not working, call 1-877-706-6789 or use live chat between 9 a.m. and 2 a.m. Central Time.

Responsible-gambling tools

PlayNow builds limits into the account rather than leaving them optional:

  • a weekly deposit limit, set at registration within MBLL's maximum;
  • a play-time limit, daily or weekly;
  • a short-term account lockout from 24 hours to 3 months;
  • Voluntary Self-Exclusion;
  • GameSense Advisors, reachable through live chat.

Set the deposit limit to a sum you are comfortable losing in a week, since every casino game has a house edge and the match token does not remove it. A PlayNow Manitoba self-exclusion covers this site; it does not reach sites in other provinces or offshore casinos. Manitoba support services, and those of the other provinces, are collected on our responsible gambling page.

Where PlayNow Manitoba fits, and who it suits

PlayNow Manitoba serves one province and nobody else. Ontario and Alberta also have regulated markets with private operators, and provinces run their own sites, such as OLG in Ontario, Loto-Québec in Quebec and PlayAlberta in Alberta. Each province's set-up is compared in our guide to playing in Canada.

For a Manitoban, the site suits a player who values certainty about the operator, wants a welcome offer with 20x wagering, and is happy to set firm limits up front. It suits less well a player who wants to see a large published game library, an app, or clear payout times before depositing. The 5.5 score reflects that split; our review method shows how each sub-score is judged, and every other brand is in our casino reviews.

Gambling should stay a choice

Online gambling in Canada is set province by province. Ontario and Alberta license private operators; the other provinces run their own sites, and casinos licensed abroad are not supervised by any Canadian regulator. Real-money play is for adults: 19+, or 18+ in Alberta, Manitoba and Quebec.
