Our verdict

PokerStars Casino suits a player outside Ontario who already has a PokerStars account, wants a Flutter-owned, Malta-licensed site and pays by Interac. It is a weak pick for bonus hunters, because the first-deposit offer excludes Canada by name. Ontario players should skip it: the Ontario site has left the regulated directory and the brand now runs inside FanDuel. The low score mostly reflects facts PokerStars does not publish for Canada, such as game counts, support channels and payout times.

Pros

  • Malta Gaming Authority licence MGA/B2C/213/2011, held by a Flutter Group company
  • Interac, Visa, Instant eChecks, MuchBetter, Payz and Luxon Pay pay out as well as take deposits
  • Low C$10 minimum deposit on the Canadian payment methods
  • Canada is not on the site's prohibited-jurisdictions list

Cons

  • No casino welcome offer for Canadian players, per the first-deposit terms
  • Ontario site no longer in the iGaming Ontario directory
  • No published game count, support channels or withdrawal times for Canada
  • Mastercard and Apple Pay cannot receive withdrawals

PokerStars Casino Canada access runs through the international pokerstars.com site, operated by TSG Interactive Gaming Europe Limited of Malta under a Malta Gaming Authority licence. Canada is not on its list of prohibited jurisdictions, and the real-money page offers Canada as a country with its own deposit methods, Interac among them.

Two things set this review apart from most. First, PokerStars gives Canadians no casino welcome offer: its terms exclude Canada by name. Second, the Ontario-regulated PokerStars site is gone from the iGaming Ontario directory, and the brand's Ontario poker now runs on FanDuel. Everything below comes from PokerStars' own pages, read on 23 October 2026 from a European connection, or from regulator records.

PokerStars Casino Canada welcome bonus: none on offer

PokerStars does run a casino first-deposit offer: 100% up to $100 plus 100 Free Spins with the code CASINO100. Its terms then say the offer 'is not available to players in Austria, Belarus, Brazil, Canada, ...', so Canadians cannot claim it. As of 23 October 2026 we found no replacement casino welcome offer for Canada.

That also answers most searches for PokerStars spins. The 100 spins belong to the excluded offer. Any page promising PokerStars spins to a new Canadian casino player is not quoting PokerStars' own terms. Because there is no bonus, there is also no wagering requirement, maximum bet or cashout cap to explain, which is the one upside: every dollar you deposit stays your own money.

Promotions that remain

The casino lobby lists four ongoing features rather than a sign-up deal:

  • PokerStars Rewards
  • Challenges
  • Store
  • Races

The pages we read do not explain how these work, what they are worth, or which of them Canadian accounts can enter. We also found no PokerStars refer a friend scheme for Canada in the casino terms or promotions read. Check the promotions tab after you log in rather than relying on third-party descriptions.

TermMain site

Games and what the lobby shows

PokerStars publishes no game count and no provider list on the casino pages we read, so we cannot tell you how many slots or live tables there are. The lobby we saw featured Gates of Olympus 2500, Big Bass Halloween Splash 1000, Le Vampire, and live games such as Live Crazy Time, Live Monopoly Big Baller and Live Ice Fishing. That lobby was read from Romania, so the Canadian selection may differ.

The footer shows a Gaming Laboratories International (GLI) logo, which suggests testing, but no certificate link is given. PokerStars publishes no payout percentage either.

The casino pages we read were the real-money pages, and they describe no free-play mode for Canada, so we cannot confirm one.

PokerStars Casino - real money deposits and withdrawals

For PokerStars Canada real money play, the real-money page lists these methods for Canadian accounts, each with a $10 minimum deposit unless stated otherwise:

MethodDepositWithdrawal
INTERACYesYes
VisaYesYes
Instant eChecksYesYes
MuchBetterYesYes
PayzYesYes
Luxon PayYesYes
MastercardYesNo
Apple PayYesNo

How to withdraw from PokerStars

Withdrawals go to one of the methods marked Yes in the withdrawal column above; Mastercard and Apple Pay cannot receive them. No crypto is offered. Payout speed is the weak spot in the documentation: the terms only say a PokerStars withdrawal 'will usually be processed quickly', with no time in hours or days, and no withdrawal limits or fees are published. Whether accounts run in Canadian dollars was not stated on the pages read. If you deposit by Mastercard or Apple Pay, plan a second method for withdrawals, since neither receives them.

The same page offers a weekly PokerStars deposit limit, the one spending control we could confirm for Canadian accounts. Set it before your first Interac deposit, and keep your own record of every deposit and withdrawal: with no published payout window, your notes are the only yardstick if a withdrawal seems slow and you need to raise it with support or the MGA.

Mobile and app

The iPhone app 'PokerStars Casino Slot Games' is in the Canadian App Store, published by Stars Mobile Limited, but the listing does not say which provinces it serves. No Android listing was recorded. The casino also runs in a browser on pokerstars.com. Because the Ontario site has closed, Ontario players should not expect the app to open a regulated Ontario account.

Licence, owner and safety

The pokerstars.com footer names TSG Interactive Gaming Europe Limited, Spinola Terraces, Mikiel Ang Borg Street, St. Julian's, SPK 1000, Malta, company number C54266. It holds Malta Gaming Authority licence MGA/B2C/213/2011, which the footer says was awarded on August 1, 2018; we have not yet checked it on the MGA register. The terms tie the operator to the Flutter Group, and the brand's intellectual property is held by Rational Intellectual Holdings Limited. The site's copyright line runs from 2001, and its title says 'Trusted for 20+ Years'.

We found no public regulator action against the operator. The old Ontario operator, TSG Interactive Canada Inc, carries no AGCO penalty in the records we searched either.

The safety question for Canadians is less about the licence than about jurisdiction. A Malta licence is not a provincial licence: outside Ontario, no Canadian regulator oversees pokerstars.com, so a dispute would go to the operator and then the MGA. For how provincial and offshore sites differ, see playing in Canada.

Support and French

This is the biggest gap. The pages we could read list no live chat, email address, phone number or hours for Canadian casino players, and nothing says whether support is offered in French. We give the support sub-score 1 for that reason: not because support is known to be poor, but because none of it is documented on the pages available to us. Before depositing, check the help section inside your account for the contact routes that apply to Canada, and ask in French there if you need it.

PokerStars in Ontario: closed, and why it may look down

PokerStars Casino, Poker and Sports in Ontario were listed in the iGaming Ontario directory on 1 March 2026 and are absent from the 13 July 2026 copy and the current list. FanDuel's Ontario site now says 'PokerStars is now exclusively on FanDuel' and invites players to download its new app or client. The old Ontario address still loads a page with a legacy footer naming TSG Interactive Canada Inc and AGCO licence OPIG1232716, but that operator is no longer in the directory, so we do not treat it as current.

The honest summary for Ontario: there is no standalone regulated PokerStars casino in Ontario to review today. If you are asking 'is PokerStars down?' or finding PokerStars not working in Ontario, the closure is the likely reason rather than an outage. Ontario players looking for the brand's poker should read our FanDuel Casino review, and the province's own site is covered in the OLG review.

Outside Ontario, a different redirect can cause confusion. pokerstars.com sends visitors to country versions: from Madrid it opens pokerstars.es, and from a US connection a page for players in a few US states. If the site looks wrong, check which country version you landed on.

PokerStars in Canada: a dated timeline

For PokerStars, the history explains why Canadian searches return such mixed results. Each date below comes from the brand's own footers, a regulator directory or an archived copy of one.

  1. 2001: the first year in the pokerstars.com copyright line.
  2. 1 August 2018: the date the footer gives for the award of Malta licence MGA/B2C/213/2011 to TSG Interactive Gaming Europe Limited.
  3. 7 June 2022: TSG Interactive Canada Inc, registered in Ontario under No. 1000044052, became an agent of iGaming Ontario under AGCO licence OPIG1232716, according to the legacy Ontario footer.
  4. 1 March 2026: PokerStars Casino, Poker and Sports still appear in the iGaming Ontario directory.
  5. 13 July 2026: the archived directory no longer lists them, and the live list, accurate as of 1 September 2026, has no PokerStars entry.
  6. October 2026: FanDuel's Ontario site states that PokerStars is now exclusively on FanDuel.

We rely only on these public records, so the reason for the Ontario exit is not something we can state. Confirm the current position with iGaming Ontario if you play in the province.

What we could not confirm

What a casino does not publish is itself useful information, because it tells you what to check before you deposit. These items were not published on the PokerStars pages available to us, or could not be read from outside Canada:

  • the total number of casino games, slots, live tables and jackpots, and the studios that supply them;
  • any support channel for Canadian casino players, its hours and whether it works in French;
  • withdrawal times, pending periods, withdrawal limits and fees;
  • whether accounts are held in Canadian dollars;
  • PokerStars' own minimum age for Canada;
  • the MGA register entry for licence MGA/B2C/213/2011 and a GLI certificate.

None of these gaps proves a problem. They are the questions to put to PokerStars through the help section of your account, and the reason our score is cautious. We will update this page when the facts can be read from a Canadian connection.

Where Canadians can play, signing up and limits

  • Ontario: no PokerStars Casino site; PokerStars poker runs on FanDuel.
  • Alberta: pokerstars.com accepts Canada, but PokerStars has no AGLC registration, so it is not one of the province's regulated sites.
  • Quebec and the rest of Canada: pokerstars.com under its Malta licence; Quebec's provincial option is Loto-Québec.

PokerStars' own age rule for Canada was not captured. The legal gambling age is 19 in most provinces and 18 in Alberta, Manitoba and Quebec. To sign up, choose Canada as your country on pokerstars.com, register with details that match your ID, and set a weekly deposit limit, which the real-money page offers, before you make a first deposit. The site also links a Responsible Gaming tools page. Our responsible gambling page lists Canadian help services.

Who PokerStars Casino suits

PokerStars Casino makes sense for an existing PokerStars player outside Ontario who wants a well-known, Malta-licensed operator from the Flutter Group, and who deposits by Interac. With no bonus, there are no wagering strings attached.

It is a poor fit for anyone who wants a welcome offer, published payout times, French support or a provincially regulated site. Ontario players have no PokerStars casino to join. Compare alternatives in our casino reviews, and see how we review for why missing facts lower a score rather than being assumed.

Gambling should stay a choice

Online gambling in Canada is set province by province. Ontario and Alberta license private operators; the other provinces run their own sites, and casinos licensed abroad are not supervised by any Canadian regulator. Real-money play is for adults: 19+, or 18+ in Alberta, Manitoba and Quebec.
